"This is a beautifully equipped gite, a true home from home and has absolutely everything you could want. All the bits and pieces are there from cutlery, BBQ kit, parasols etc etcIn the winter i think it would be a fabulous and cosy place to stay. Gemozac is nothing special but you are close to the coast (20 mins), cognac and you are in the middle of the wine regions where there are great places to go.But... if you go in the summer do bear in mind there is no garden. the guts is in fact surrounded by roads on all sides, with a small patio out front where you can have breakfast. theres not a lot of cars (1 per hour??) so thats no problem... theres just nowhere to 'be' outside. We came fro a fortnight and realised that once we are up and had breakfast, you really did have to leave and find somewhere to go in the sun all day as you can't really stay outside at home. lovely to come back to and we had a few BBQs outside and sat lat win the day playing cards. very quiet indeed which was lovely, even though there is a houses directly surrounding the gite. so, lovely place, big bedrooms, close to beaches just bear in mind you can't laze around outdoors while at home."

"A very pleasant lady has received us very well. The accommodation was superb! Everything was neat, it was spacious and practical. There was plenty to find for the children. Play equipment in the garden. A house with big toys, a large swimming pool that is well maintained. board games and more toys in the house. We could ask everything for small children. A game of a chair a bed a care pillow, bath toy ... Very nice view from the balcony. Country side. Many activities that you can do with the children. Sometimes in the car on the road. The hostess gave us a snack and a drink the 2nd evening of local products. And later in the week the children were allowed to do a craft activity. There is a dog and a cat present that are very good. The children liked that too."

"Wonderful rural retreat, traditional French gite with all the creature comforts (if in parts a little worn around the edges). This is a lovely place to spend a week, with the local town of Gemozac providing local shops (10 mins, 3x Boulanger is, butchers etc) and a Super U just a little further away (all you could need, less than 15 mins) The hosts (Eric and Brigitte) are absolutely wonderful and live 2 mins around the corner. You couldn’t ask for nicer hosts.La Cagouille is a relaxing, quiet and peaceful gite that would be a great base for the western coast, or like we did as a place to just chill out and eat great food and drink a little too much wine ;)"

"We felt you'd undersold it, but that gave us the great joy of discovering it for ourselves whilst not noticing any niggles at all (the furtnure creaked spookily, hundred year old tiles were crack and old doors dont always close neatly). The care taker was charming, he assured us that the kitchen eats glasses etc so don't worry about breakages. True we broke lots - but he didnt blink and handed us back our full deposit charmingly. Indeed we are convinced Manoir D'Ete has a ghost who breaks things when the residents don't. The countryside is pretty, but not touristy, there were many sights nearby for trips out, and even the weather was perfect."

"A wonderful house for a couple looking to get away from the stresses of everyday life. It has been updated on the outside since the photos so looks even better. The pool was marvellous in the hot weather we had in August. We took bikes and explored locally and also drove to coastal villages. Good supermarket only 3.5 miles away. We received a delightful 'welcome pack' of home grown fruit and veg from the owners. The only downsides were that care had to be taken going up and down stairs for anyone over 5feet tall, and the loo was cramped, so if you are claustrophobic, you'll need to keep the door open!"
