"Framlington villa is perfectly placed for anyone wanting a quiet retreat whilst still having some excellent amenities not too far away. The villa is extremely well equipped and warm and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, one with a shower and the other with a contemporary bath (very attractive but not very practical - this is the only criticism we have of the villa!) The setting is rural and extremely relaxing. There is a short walk up to the village where you will find a warm welcome at `The Village Inn` and I can definitely recommend the fish and chips there! There is another eatery just a stones throw away `The Granby` which provides an extensive menu. The village hosts a small grocers shop and there is an artisan bakery `The Running Fox` which incorporates a cafe. The food here is excellent, we had the small fox cub cooked breakfast which was delicious and hearty. The bread and pastries were delightful and the quiche and scones are highly recommended! Framlington Villa is perfectly placed for anyone wishing to visit Northumberland, it`s beautiful coastline and villages and towns of historical interest. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and will definitely re-visit in the future."

"We were disappointed with the cottage, there was an unpleasant musty damp smell whenever we entered the cottage. The oven tins were inadequate and dirty, though there were numerous saucepans only the two very smallest had lids, both problems made it difficut to cook a meal. Numerous magazines dating variously back to 2014, the aerosol deoderant for the bathroom smelt of nothing probably because the best before date was 2011, all symptoms of a lack of attention to detail .We had very pleasant weather and it would have been nice to have coffee sat on the bench enjoying the view but that was impossible as the bench was rotten and covered in moss ....fit only for the bonfire. Yes the view is wonderful and the bed certainly very comfortable but neither was sufficient to make up for our dissatisfaction."

"The central-heating thermostat is... guesswork, at best. No instructions, and it seems to keep on resetting itself every few hours. Not a massive inconvenience or hassle, but... not a smooth hassle-free experience either. For me personally, none of the sofas were overly comfortable - again, not a massive problem, but a constant niggle. And finally, if you (Sykes and/or the property owner) are going to make the renter get £100 in cash for the 'housekeeping bond', at least make the effort to collect it. Or just sack off the requirement completely. Either way. But making *such* a big deal about it (it's on every confirmation, and on the description page on Sykes) and then not bothering about it again just makes it feel like "Well, that was pointless and annoying"."

"This apartment is ideally placed to enjoy the lovely town of Rothbury - the riverside walks, dog friendly pubs and great little microbrewery, the cafes and and tea rooms. The apartment is spotlessly clean, warm and extremely comfortable. It was great to be able to enjoy a bath after a day's walking. The bright spacious dining kitchen was really nice and the beds very comfortable.A lovely drive over the moors takes you to Alnwick, with its castle, gardens and shops and a bit further gets you to the breathtaking Northumberland coastline. The owners of the apartment were very accessible and friendly, offering advice on where to eat or visit. We are looking forward to returning."

"Enjoyed our stay at the villa which we found so clean (makes a change) the beds where comfy and well presented. There was plenty of room to spread out in the main area and we where glad that there is now a DVD player to the main TV. The weather was ok and we managed to do some great walks, we would like to be at the Villa in Summer for the outside seating, it is amazing. We think the Villa would benefit from a good reading lamp as the lights are so high in the ceiling its not bright enough to read. The only thing we found strange is that there where NO hand towels for the bathrooms, so we had to use the bath towels all the time !!"
