"Framlington villa is perfectly placed for anyone wanting a quiet retreat whilst still having some excellent amenities not too far away. The villa is extremely well equipped and warm and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, one with a shower and the other with a contemporary bath (very attractive but not very practical - this is the only criticism we have of the villa!) The setting is rural and extremely relaxing. There is a short walk up to the village where you will find a warm welcome at `The Village Inn` and I can definitely recommend the fish and chips there! There is another eatery just a stones throw away `The Granby` which provides an extensive menu. The village hosts a small grocers shop and there is an artisan bakery `The Running Fox` which incorporates a cafe. The food here is excellent, we had the small fox cub cooked breakfast which was delicious and hearty. The bread and pastries were delightful and the quiche and scones are highly recommended! Framlington Villa is perfectly placed for anyone wishing to visit Northumberland, it`s beautiful coastline and villages and towns of historical interest. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and will definitely re-visit in the future."

"We had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage. On arrival it really did meet our expectations and retained them all week. Very comfortable and spacious cottage which is in very tranquil surrounds – fantastic views in all directions over fields and hills. There has been lots of thought and time put into preparing this cottage and all to a very high standard – loved the thick fluffy towels! The owners live next door but they could be miles away, hardly saw them and never heard them, however I am sure that as the polite notice in the information pack says “we only live next door ” and then goes on to ask that if you have a problem do not hesitate to contact them. We had no problems but I am sure that if we had then they would have been quickly resolved.Pitch black at night, lovely location and plenty to do within a few miles drive. Try the walk round the reservoir. Coast only 20 miles or so, Kielder similar and so is Hexham – every day out was a great one! If you dont want to travel then there are great walks on the door step, nearest real "anything" is Rothbury 8 miles away - very nice too.No hesitation in stating this is one of the very best cottages we have ever stayed in."

"We stayed over Christmas. It is a beautiful cottage with plenty of character and charm but with modern amenities. There is loads of space outside which was great for our two dogs, and all secured. The horse stables and outbuildings were really useful for our extra food storage and a place to keep walking gear to avoid bringing it into The house. It is quite remote hence the 8 for local amenities but a short drive to Morpeth and other places. It is about 25 mins drive to Alnwick. That said the rural loxation means there is miles of walking from the door which suited us very well. The cottage itself has 2 log burners but the central heating kept us nice and cosy aside. There was plenty of room for 8 of us and the dogs. The lounge opens up to a conservatory too so easy to get more space and seating if needed. I would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay again."

"This cottage was beautiful and the owners had thought of every little detail making our stay easy and like being at home! The only reason I have put a 9 for comfort is that the heating was playing up while we were there so was cold at night but the owners were very helpful and are going to get the problem fixed so just one of those things that could happen anywhere! The location was a bit far from where our family lived who we were visiting so an 8 on a personal level but a great location for exploring Morpeth and the national park. Overall would highly recommend this cottage if it's in the right location for you and the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Lots of luxurious little details that made it very special!"

"Enjoyed our stay at the villa which we found so clean (makes a change) the beds where comfy and well presented. There was plenty of room to spread out in the main area and we where glad that there is now a DVD player to the main TV. The weather was ok and we managed to do some great walks, we would like to be at the Villa in Summer for the outside seating, it is amazing. We think the Villa would benefit from a good reading lamp as the lights are so high in the ceiling its not bright enough to read. The only thing we found strange is that there where NO hand towels for the bathrooms, so we had to use the bath towels all the time !!"
