"Just returned from a weeks' stay at Church Barn Le Grande and overall very impressed with both the barn itself and the facilities. Great to be able to park both vehicles under cover right next to the barn entrance, which made for easy unloading and loading of the car. The barn itself certainly offers the 'wow' factor - on entering through the front door, you are straight into the dining/kitchen area (seating for 6 at the glass-topped dining table) with high ceiling and patio door leading to large wrap-around enclosed garden which the dogs thoroughly enjoyed. The kitchen was fairly well-equipped with an electric 4-hob on the island and two ovens situated at chest height facing this. Plenty of drawers and cupboards for utensils, pots and pans - if you're big into cooking and aim to make use of the facilities a few times, items such as a measuring jug, slotted spoon and a potato masher were lacking, but due to past self-catering experience these had been packed just in case! Dining, side plates, bowls and wine and champagne glasses were pentiful, as were mugs - athough water glasses/tumblers were in short supply. A wide wooden staircase leads up to the very comfy 'lounge area' complete with roomy leather sofas, large wooden coffe table and wall-mounted, decent sized flat screen tv, complete with Bose sound bar. Dvd player and Sky box completed the entertainment system - couldn't seem to access the movie channel though, or download programmes to the Sky box due to inactive/incorrect codes. The bedrooms were roomy, and well equipped with excellent storage options and plenty of coat hangers. The smaller double ensuite to the right of the barn entrance would have benefited from a king size bed in our opinion to make things fairer for two couples, but not a major issue. Beds were on the firm side and additional pillows were available. Both bathrooms were nicely proportioned with the larger of the two offering a huge rectangular bath tub and his and her basins. The barn also offers a double and single bed in the family room up a small, narrow flight of stairs to the rear with skylight windows - this room shares the bathroom which is just next door to the superking bedroom. Our stay at Church Barn was relaxing and it was a great place to come back to after a long day out, thoroughly recommend and would certainly consider another stay there if there weren't so many other places we want to explore in this amazing country of ours!"

"My family and I very much enjoyed our stay in Randall Cottage in Yalding. Yalding is a lovely, old village with a lot of history, an interesting old church to look around, and enjoyable walks by the river. It also has good links to some of the bigger towns around such as Paddock Wood (with trains direct to London) and Maidstone (nice for shopping). Randall Cottage itself is a wonderful old, quirky cottage with a pleasing mixture of old and new. It is full of character and has good, modern facilities while it maintains the character of the cottage. It was spotlessly clean and nice and cosy, and we felt completely relaxed there. It was a nice place to come back to after long days out. There was a problem with one of the pieces of equipment when we arrived (nobody's fault, just one of those things that happens sometimes) and the owner was very responsive and got it sorted out quickly, leaving us a bottle of wine and chocolates for any inconvenience. If pushed to suggest improvements, I would suggest extra crockery and cutlery (though there was enough!) and a folder with instructions about how to work the water heater, washing machine etc.I would suggest anyone arriving at night to take a torch with them as access is through the back door and it's really dark at night. Also take care to any tall folk as the roof is quite low in places, in keeping with the age of the cottage. In summary then, Randall Cottage is highly recommended and we would certainly go back."

"lovely cottage and fabulous hosts, with everything we could need. Close to Ebbsfleet for a day trip to Brussels which was excellent, though I would recommend booking your tickets as far in advance as you can to get the best price, I paid £85 return for each of us, but have to say it was well worth it. To help getting around buy 24hr underground tickets when you get there as this lets you go all over the city. We would recommend getting the metro to Brosse and going to the Grand Place, include a visit to Hard Rock Café in the corner of the Place. Close to the A2 & M20 with so much to do in the area. Dover Castle is a definite recommend as are the war time tunnels, though be warned there is quite a bit of walking."

"We had a lovely week at the Guards House. Great to be able to visit Leeds castle several times and make use of the playgrounds, restaurant and coffee shops. It would be nice if a footpath could link the property to the public footpath to the castle. The single track road to reach it is very busy and I felt quite uncomfortable walking down there with my children. Saying that use can always drive. The upstairs shower was very temperamental but otherwise the cottage was clean and pleasant. Nice to be able to bring the dog."

"We had a fabulous week staying at the Guards House. The cottage was in a peaceful and pretty location, with easy access to Leeds Castle either a very short drive away or a pleasant walk through the woods. Beds were amazingly comfortable with soft fluffy pillows. Note of caution: Be careful on the access road as cars tend to drive very fast up and down here and it’s a single lane only with passing places and blind bends."
