"I was very disappointed with this cottage, I booked it based on the main picture which was very misleading as it makes it out that you are booking the cottage not just the black part shown in the picture. The internal pictures where accurate to what you got. You were able to share the main garden but it would have been better for a private garden to sit in nearer to the cottage. There was cobwebs in the window which wasn't very good. The bed was very uncomfortable, it would have been better to have a sofa bed so you could sit on a night and watch the television rather than having to sit on the bed all the time. Also not sure why there isn't a cooker in the property as there was room, I don't think two rings on top of a microwave oven is acceptable. I wouldn't recommend this cottage. The main road outside is busy at all times in turn make the cottage noisey, complimentary ear plugs would be a good idea. The water kept over heating and making a noise, I worked out where the switch was to turn it off after a very noisey first night, this may be something to note in the notes for guests."

"Swangate is a lovely well kept home with a large well maintained garden and we had no issues with the property at all. We had a lovely surprise on our arrival of an iced lemon cake which was very welcomed after such an awful journey to get there. As a family with teenagers we had a lovely holiday in this beautiful location. We spent several days site seeing and visiting local attractions and as the weather was great we took a picnic with us on most days so we could enjoy the forest on our way home.We enjoyed the banger racing and caravan demolition derby at Ringwood Raceway on the bank holiday Monday and even though it wasn't my cup of tea the rest of the family thoroughly enjoyed the motor museum with its Top Gear attraction. It was so nice to come back to a lovely home after long days out where we often used to sit in the conservatory and enjoy the garden. I would definitely recommend Swangate as a great place to stay."

"We would thoroughly recommend this cottage, especially for a couple with dogs. The cottage was very well equipped and the only downside was the boiler which ran hot & cold about every 30 seconds when showering. This has probably been fixed now but lasted for the fortnight we were there. Staff were very helpful and supportive. The location was good but could be a little noisy at times and parking was cramped when the car park was full. We had hoped that the cottage looked out onto the cricket field but that was not the case, although the field is close by and 'dog friendly'. Nearby Fordingbridge is a lovely town with good shops & amenities and the proximity of The New Forest made it an excellent centre for walks and scenic countryside.Suffice it to say that we strongly recommended it to our next door neighbour as soon as we got home... and no one wants to give bad advice to someone one has to live next door to!"

"We loved Damerham and the pub was fantastic and the food was delicious. We felt the staff went out of their way to help us especially as we have small children. The cottage was ok but unfortunately there had obviously been dogs staying in the downstairs room and to be honest there was a very doggy smell in the cottage and lots of dog hairs. It wasn’t a hugely significant issue but as we had paid north of £300 for a 3 night stay would have thought the rooms would have been cleaned adequately. There also wasn’t anywhere to put anything (hotels and guest houses NEVER have enough hooks and storage so perhaps unfair to highlight it with this place) On a more positive note the bedding and rest of the place was very nice and clean and as I have mentioned the staff were incredible. Would highly recommend to stay if you have a dog."

"Just a wondeful place to stay, quiet and private, with the moors just through the garden gate. We have stayed twice so far and we have just booked for a third visit in October 2019. Elaine and David are lovely people and are always on hand to help , if any problems. The accomodation has all the mod cons, Sky, central heating. The bathroom has a normal size shower, where some have tiny ones where you cannot turn round. We cannot recommend this little hideaway enough, it is just AMAZING . The dog loves it to. Lovely places to visit around the area and great pubs serving lovely food. The community farm shop and Hockeys is a must ."
