"A lovely tardis-like dormer bungalow, with decent furniture and fittings, clean and well presented, with comfortable beds (I loved the full cotton bedding - most places have polyester and I so appreciated the very pretty soft cotton - thank you Yasmin). I had three concerns: the noise from the road, no bedroom windows due to conservatory going all across the back of the house (I slept with bedroom to conservatory door open - I have COPD and need a lot of fresh air!) and no spare bedding handy in any of the cupboards - a worry if sick or have an accident, spill anything as no electric dryer to get linen washed and put back on beds within the day. We were comfortable warm, mum in law loved it, and husband and I were able to sleep separate as we do at home, cos I am a restless bad sleeper - so he was sent up the paddle stairs to the lovely bedroom in the 'attic' which had its own loo - perfect! Despite the closeness on either side of neighbours you are not overlooked in the conservatory or house. The garden was beautiful and well kept and the sparrows front and back were a delight! The welcome cake and flowers are a lovely touch - again thank you Yasmin for everything. We would happily have gone again and in fact was looking forward to it - but Swangate is stopping being a holiday home and going to long let after Christmas - I hope the new folk enjoy it as much as we have. The marking of local amenities at 8 is not derogatory - there were no amenities and that is what I wanted - I live near a supermarket and a golf course and sundry other things in easy reach - when I go on holiday I want to be 'out of the way' the further out the better! That said Ringwood is an excellent little town and is no more than 5 or 10 mins by car to the centre, parking, shops etc. We are really sad that we won;t be able to stay at Swangate again ..."

"Lovely bungalow. Took my 4 year old grandson and my nephew and neice, ages 15 & 13, together with my sister. Initially I was a little worried about the road at the front of the house because I thought my grandson might run out onto it, although there was a side road inbetween, however, the back garden and conservatory more than compensated for this, it was lovely and the children really enjoyed playing in it and it was very safe and secure.Great location, just on the edge of the New Forest, a short drive away. Great pub nearby, The Elm Tree, lovely meal there. Lots of food shopping options with Lidel up the road, Ringwood up the road. The steps upto the loft bedroom was ok for us, my nephew, aged 15, loved this for his own space. However, my grandson was not allowed to go up there because we thought he might fall down them as they are quite steep.Facilities in the bungalow great, a real bonus having a ensuite in one of the bedrooms with great shower, separate bathroom and in the loft bedroom separate toilet facilities.Overall a great stay and we definiately would book this again as it fulfills all our needs."

"Swangate is a lovely well kept home with a large well maintained garden and we had no issues with the property at all. We had a lovely surprise on our arrival of an iced lemon cake which was very welcomed after such an awful journey to get there. As a family with teenagers we had a lovely holiday in this beautiful location. We spent several days site seeing and visiting local attractions and as the weather was great we took a picnic with us on most days so we could enjoy the forest on our way home.We enjoyed the banger racing and caravan demolition derby at Ringwood Raceway on the bank holiday Monday and even though it wasn't my cup of tea the rest of the family thoroughly enjoyed the motor museum with its Top Gear attraction. It was so nice to come back to a lovely home after long days out where we often used to sit in the conservatory and enjoy the garden. I would definitely recommend Swangate as a great place to stay."

"Lovely location with easy access to both Ringwood and the New Forest. Easy and good communication and key arrangements. Comfortable beds and sitting room..(although my son complained the bed in the attic was very creaky.) Nice log burner, the place was plenty warm enough. But the kitchen was woefully inadequate in almost every way. Luckily we took a prepared lasagne with us for the first night then realised it was going to be eat out or takeaway. (Although a cake had been very kindly left for us. )Main bathroom was lovely but there was virtually zero water pressure in the ensuite so it was more of a dribble than a shower. And I wish i had realised there would be handtowels only, i could have so easily taken some with me."

"Really lovely cottage, centrally based to be able to get into the New Forest, the coast and pretty villages. The cottage was comfortable, and well stocked. Cake and pint of milk on arrival was a nice surprise. The only down side was the paddle stairs to the upstairs room are not suitable for the elderly or toddler age children as very steep. But two bedrooms on the ground floor caters for everyone. The conservatory was the ideal relaxing room, and the garden was really lovely. Smoke alarm and the toilet seat faulty and replaced within 24 hours when reported to the owner. Wifi worked fine and supermarket and shops within 5 minute drive."
