"The place is nice! Nice bathrooms, great showers, really nice beds, spotlessly clean- but there were a few things that seriously undermined its value and affected our experience. We were disappointed by some things that could very easily be remedied:We went for xmas week which was at a massively inflated price yet there were NO xmas decorations!!!!! NONE! A box of crackers doesn't cut it. I knew this before I went as luckily I called and asked. I took my own tree!!!! I was told there was no storage space. There was a lot of storage space in the eves in the bedrooms. Even a set of fairly lights would have helped! No internet - which we knew but NO phone service at all, which we didn't know but the owners would know. Zero phone reception. How does a rental get a high star rating without internet?! I will never stop in a place without internet again becasue if there is no phone reception either it it too isolated - especially at xmas!No serving platters/plates/dishes. Not really geared up for cooking at home.We could only seat 4 at the dining table. It's 6 birth!when we arrived the place was boiling hot. The cleaner was still there so I asked how I could turn the heating down. i was told not to touch the storage heaters. there were no instructions for them. The place was unbearably hot and we had to turn them off and open all the windows in december!!!! The directions are incorrect. The postal address is not where parking and access is to the front door. The written directions tell you to turn on to Harland road. It is HARTLAND."

"Would not describe this accommodation as ‘luxury’ as is advertised. For the price very disappointing. Very small and mostly inexpensive things could be done to greatly improve this cottage. Bad points- No curtains, just grubby ill fitting blinds meaning very bright in mornings. Very Small bath (nothing luxury)Both beds broken upstairs - had to use books to support the underneath of the bed! Only four chairs at table and not enough space for 6 adults on sofas No oven glovesNo salt and pepper ? Only a couple of dishwasher tablets left for us. Considering 6 people staying and it’s a very small dishwasher it’s not really adequate. Also not many bin bags provided either. No hand soap provided in bathroomsParking difficult- not very good if you’re bringing more than one car especially in summer. However cars can be left in the council car park from 6pm til 9am for free so worth noting.Good pointsMostly well equipped kitchen (bedsides no oven gloves)CleanGood location for exploring local towns and going into port Isaac.Nice places to eat nearby. There is a BBQ in the shedLots of places to eat nearby Nice garden and lovely big table for sitting outside.Quiet location Good size bedrooms and lots of storageNice view of the sea"

"Absolutely loved our week at Little Beside, it was perfect for my husbands 50th birthday. The views from the rooms and of course garden are just absolutely stunning-i feel like all the time we were in we were just looking out the window (binoculars are provided). We took our own viewing scope and it was just like a magnet. We found the house really cosy and comfy, the electric heaters kept it really snug on the odd cool morning/evening we had. The settee is really comfy and so is the bed and as for the bathroom, hot water was plentiful. The welcome pack of the freshly baked scones, clotted cream, milk and teabags were much appreciated after a long drive-they were delicious. It was really nice that the owners were on hand and it was nice that they were nice and friendly but not intrusive. The location is ideal, for us we didn't find the walk up from the harbour bad at all, the co-op is just around the corner and the big plus is the parking. Although i would say-reverse on the drive if you can as you may find it a bit hairy reversing off! For us Little Beside was perfect and if we go to Cornwall again this is where we will stay!"

"Stayed here for a long weekend and had a great time! The lodge is a short (20 minute) walk from Port Isaac but, for those of you with children, 5 minutes of that walk is along a road with no pathway. There is a Co-Op down the road to get some bits and pieces which you will probably need. Minor downside to the place is that we needed to bring (or purchase) kitchen roll, toilet roll, tea-towels, handwash and stuff like that. Also bring towels - we did thankfully. Some places provide these sort of things, but it's just a few pounds if you have to buy them, so not a major concern. That place was comfortable and warm with the heating being very effective if you go on a cold and rainy weekend like we did! It was clean and tidy with loads of plates and cutlery. Shower was good. With a TV, the entertainment was fine - some DVDs available too! Mattress's were very firm - OK for me, but some might moan.It was very good value for money. Minor quibble was that it would have been nice to have had a quick 'hello' from the owner/site warden. We didn't see a soul, but it was no matter as nothing went wrong."

"This was a lovely little bungalow - a bit smaller than expected, but perfectly adequate. There is a parking space, but "interesting" getting in and out depending on neighbouring vehicles and wouldn't like to have a very large car.We chose it for the view (being January and the weather could have been dire), which was wonderful -and in fact the weather was great too! We weren't over keen on the electric heating, although there was plenty of it, but I think if we hadn't used the open fire we would have been quite chilly in the evening at that time of the year.Everything you need was there, including welcome cream tea and a few tea bags, sugar etc to get you going - although with a Coop just round the corner you could get all you need there.I think we probably won't go again because our dog is old and walking back up from the village would be a bit much for her, so we couldn't really go out for an evening meal etc. We drove down and at that time of year no trouble parking, but then you can't have a drink. It has a lot going for it, the coastal path for walks and as I say, nothing to beat that view!!!"
