"To start with, the owner Frances called a few days ahead to see if we needed milk put in the fridge. She also offered the use of a dog bed and food bowl. This I was not expecting so off to a good start. The cottage itself was superb. Frances had left notes to explain how the TV and free view box work, how to work the key safe, and to explain she was having issues with the broadband but offered the use of her house system if needed. There was just about every tourist information leaflet you could possibly need along with a selection of books, DVD's and CD's. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and probably had more things in it that I have at home. The bathroom is superb. Very well appointed with underfloor heating and loads of room. The shower was great and the towels were top quality too. The bedroom is ample big enough with loads of wardrobe space. The white decor helped it have a lovely bright airy feeling. The cottage is up a narrow lane which was quiet, and only a ten minute or so walk to the city centre. Frances had left a welcome basket with chocolates, oatcakes, ground coffee, apples, Apple juice and olives. While we never used any of this the offer was certainly appreciated. So to sum up, Garden Cottage is a superb holiday let being very well appointed and providing everything you could possibly need. Great central but quiet location improved by having a very considerate owner. We would certainly go back again."

"Excellent accommodation - If we were in the area again I would go back, so don't let any of the following put you off!Excellent kitchen (but see below**) - any piece of machinery you could imagine and loads of crockery, cutlery and kitchen devices were included along with a very kind gift of a couple of bottles of wine (thank you). Very comfortable armchairs and a TV which excited the techno-conscious members of our party. Heating, decor. etc. wonderful. Beds of a high standard (i.e. not the 'roll into the middle beds' often found in holiday rentals). Large garden which would suit playing in (too cold and wet when we were there)The photo of the frontage (and the word 'cottage') lead me to believe that the property was somewhat isolated and that there was significantly large parking space. The bungalow is, in fact, part of a small development and attached directly to another bungalow - there are two parking spaces. That said, this detail did not affect our enjoyment of the facilities.**May we suggest the addition of (i) a saucepan between miniature and cauldron size and (ii) a frying pan/saute pan of slightly greater dimension than the only one we could find."

"This was a lovely cottage on both inside and out. Beautifully decorated, modern interior, cosy log fire and comfortable beds. The only drawback was the lengthy access road - don’t underestimate this, it really is a bumpy ride up to the cottage. There are no footpath walks from the cottage and there are no shops in walking distance so you have to negotiate this pothole filled road every time you want to go out.The second thing for me was the far from peaceful location situated yards from the very busy dual carriageway A9/M9. Heavy traffic all day and most of night. I wish we’d been warned in advance. For getting to places of course this road is a huge advantage so if car/lorry whooshing sends you to sleep then this is the place for you. Scottish scenery in the hills and forests is breathtaking as are the lochs - so that saved the day for us."

"Came down from Aberdeen & Mintlaw with my Mum & our dogs , for a little break away , beautiful setting very comfortable flat to stay the dogs hit use of their huge garden & lots of fun . There is also a tennis court too if you like your sport . The owner was very nice & made sure we had everything & knew how everything worked , always very friendly . So close to Perth , Scone , Dundee , Tillicoultry & Stirling and loads of others too we just never had the time !! The only worry for me was my mum is 75 and still reasonably fit but the stairs up to the flat where for her a wee bit difficult . I’ll defiantly be returning would love to see it in summer . I’d give this a huge rating 10 stars !!!"

"Absolutely Incredible stay in the ashknowe cabin. Beautiful view out the front windows; opening the curtains in the morning was like a dream. The sauna was brilliant, as was the hot tub. The bath was the best I’ve ever had - although we had to put up with cooler water for a little while after (not a big sacrifice for a huge benefit!). We wanted 3 days of pure relaxation and thus never left the cabin, however I can see a slight problem if someone was looking to eat out at night - definitely not a problem for us. My Seat Ibiza almost got snowed in as we were leaving, although if we were forced to stay another night I would not be to dismayed. The best holiday at home I’ve ever had."
