What our customers are saying about our Country Cottages In Oxfordshire To Rent.

"The cottage was perfect for us and was well equipped generally. Slight issue with only enough coal for one small fire and having an open fire was one of the reasons we rented this cottage in particular. We had brought logs but its a coal only fireplace and we arrived late on Christmas eve so nowhere nearby to buy any for a few days. We did find a petrol station open and with coal on Christmas Day near Oxford in the end! It wasn't a huge deal and very specific to the time we went because normally the Post Office sells it apparently. Besides this small gripe everything was great. The kitchen is very well equipped and the conservatory space was great for Christmas meals with every small thing catered for, even candles. We had snow while we were there and it was beautiful all around, the horses in the field opposite were great to watch. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the good size family bathroom was a great bonus. It may need mentioning somewhere that there is no toilet on the ground floor and when my elderly father visited us it was tricky getting him up the stairs. Brian checked we had everything we needed and was responsive throughout our stay, many thanks.I would definitely recommend this cottage to others and would book again and we have rented a lot of cottages in this area ( nearby family to visit). Thank you!!"

"This is a lovely development of holiday cottages, quite private from the owners property, but they are there if you need them. The people staying in the other two cottages were very nice which we appreciated, as you are on top of one another so to speak. We arrived to a generous welcome pack, wine, chocolates, cake, dog treats, plus coffee tea & milk so we could have a cuppa on arrival, as our Sainsbury's delivery would not be arriving until a bit later. Lovely flowers on the table also. Although surrounded by lovely countryside it is well placed for a quick drive down to Chipping Norton, the Aldi there is very handy. Great Tew is just down the road but we would not have walked there as all on the lane and cars did seem to drive quite fast along there. Also you can get to Broadway Tower (a must), and all the North Cotswold towns easily. Whichford Pottery is nearby. As regards cottage, it's very nicely fitted out, comfortable furnishings, very good appliances. The twin bedroom would benefit from some hooks to hang clothes on, had to use door frames and handles. Altogether a successful week."

"The Cottage is in a lovely location. It has a well equipped kitchen with a lovely large conservatory and a nice cosy open fire in the living room. We had a problem due to the previous guest breaking the only double bed in the property, which meant we then had to sleep on the mattress on the floor for out first night. Owner was apologetic, but I wasn’t very impressed with just being given a bottle of wine as compensation. Not paying for part of that first night, or the whole night, I think would have meant a lot more. If you enjoy a shower, I’m afraid you won’t get one here, with only one shower available, it has no power at all, it just tickles, you will get a better shower from the garden hose pipe. There is parking at the property, but if you are not a confident driver you may have trouble getting onto the drive, it is very tight to swing onto the drive from the little lane, with the added gravel gradient to also contend with."

"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"Enjoyed our stay at rose cottage so much we will definitely try and return in the summer so we may have a better chance of the weather being on our side. The cottage is beautiful everything you need is provided. Only needed to bring groceries. Gorgeous little welcome pack with something for everyone even the dog was there on our arrival. Easy check in and out. Quite easy to find. Lovely area and surrounding villages. We went to visit family but wish we were staying longer so we could do more exploring. The only down side for me was on one morning we were woken up early by builders on the building site and the boiler was really loud even when the thermostat was not on. The builders were only there once so it wasn't an issue after that. I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit the Cotswolds and we will try to return if the owners will have us xx"
