"Plenty of room but shabby furnishings (settees that had lost any springing) and the kitchens were ill equipped. There were no small chopping/paring knives and only three mismatched vegetable tureens - this to serve possibly 20 people. In particular the ovens wouldn't reach the temperatures required and one of the gas hobs on the double oven would not ignite. The freezer was set to only -14 degrees (should be -18) and the ice cubes from the dispenser sprayed mostly onto the floor. Only 2 dishwasher tablets were supplied for a stay of three nightsThe table tennis room is a disused barn - none too clean and the bats and balls would disgrace a charity shop. One of the outside doormats was so worn with holes in it that our youngest toddler tripped on it and when we attempted to remove it (temporarily) it totally disintegrated. There was an adequate supply of cutlery, crockery and glasses although it would have been a lot more comfortable if the two latter (together with some pots and pans) could have been stored at a higher level. (All the kitchen cupboards were below work-surface level). There was no larder either, for food storage.Instruction leaflets for use of the microwave would have been useful together with either labelled bins for refuse or a list of local authority recycling instructions posted in the kitchen instead of one paragraph in the 'house book' on the coffee table in the main sitting room However the beds and bathrooms etc. were clean."

"Cleeton Barn Gate is a comfortable cottage closely located to Ludlow and the Welsh Marches. The cottage is spacious and well equipped, as with any rural property the WiFi signal is poor and can be intermittent, but the owners will try to resolve any problems. There is a cattle grid outside the bedroom window, we got used to it very quickly but it may disturb light sleepers. The owners have two sheepdogs, who are friendly (and enjoy playing fetch, if you have the time) and the owners are happy to let your own dog run around the larger grounds of the property, which was very useful. The cottage is situated on the edge of moorland and there are a lot a sheep loose in the area, which should be borne in mind if you have a dog, who likes to chase & play. The property has an enclosed but not secure garden. A 3 foot wall and picket fence surround the garden, which was fine for our dog, but a larger dog or one that is quite agile and enjoys exploring, would be able to get out quite easily. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a break in the area. It is well located for Ludlow/Kidderminster and beyond. Although co-located with the owners property, it does feel private and they are keen to help with any issues you have without being intrusive."

"Overall we had a great holiday and enjoyed all being together in Henley Farmhouse. We have been doing this for over 20 years so have experienced a number of different properties. We would however like to point out a few things that we found somewhat inadequate. Hopefully the suggestions for improvements will be beneficial to future clients.Generally we felt the property was rather 'tired' and well used.Large carpet stain in small lounge.Lounge furniture rather stained n places.Toilet seat in rooms 7 & 9 wobbly. Nail sticking out of floor boards in room7.Wi - fi only available in certain parts of the property. ( Need to state this in description )Kitchen, useless, sharp grater when catering for large numbers. Lack of serving dishes ( only one Pyrex dish) No Oven Gloves. ( Safety Issue) No instructions for microwave. Lack of SHARP knives. Loose seal on Indeset Oven door. Inadequate veg. peeler. Extractor Fan above Côte d'Or Oven wasn't working. Shelf missing in fridge door. Definite need for clearer labelling for recycling. Disgusting unhygienic outside food bin crawling with maggots clearly never washed out and surely a health hazard. Room 3& 4 bathrooms, slow drainage of water from sinks. More coat hangers needed."

"This is a charming cottage with a lovely secluded location and great secure garden for our dog. It's perfectly located for walking in the Shropshire Hills and served as an excellent base for our trip. We didn't mind the absence of electricity and running water in the cottage. Hot and cold water taps were just a few steps outside and the decidedly unVictorian outside bathroom was well appointed. Cooking on the range took a little getting used to but just meant that meals took a little longer to prepare. The thermos we brought to take on walks was filled with hot water each night so we could have hot tea in the morning without lighting the range and a head torch for washing up and night time toilet trips was also a big help. The only area we found the cottage lacking was comfort. Whilst the double bed was comfortable enough, the single beds were not and there was only one vaguely comfortable chair in the house. Clearly Victorians weren't ones for sitting down. Other than that, it's a lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"We were greeted and welcomed and shown around. The cottage is next door to where the owners live, which helps if there is a problem or you need information. This is not a working farm.Access to the cottage from the main road is via an unmade potholed track. The layout inside is a bit curious, but we found it OK. The galley kitchen can be a bit of a scrum if more than one person is in there as it is also the passage to both bedrooms. One bedroom has an on-suite but the other bedroom has a bathroom accessed through the kitchen. We found this shower tended to be a bit cool. Weirdly this one is electric but the other one was off the mains and worked very well. One thing that needs to be realised is that entering the cottage is via a step which is quite high and someone with mobility issues may find this a problem. Overall it was comfortable and worked well for the four of us."
