"We were fairly disappointed with our holiday here. There were several points we found were not pleasant about our stay, these being: •Not much privacy, and cameras right above hot tub, not to mention a window looking down and a gate from propert next door joined onto our garden.•When we arrived there was dirty cleaning cloths left all on the table •When we arrived the toilet seat was broken and on the floor!!•The ‘spa bath’ was not working at all, which wasn’t mentioned. •There was a Range Rover parked smack bang in front of our kitchen window, people out there having discussions in front of the window regularly and we felt we had no privacy. There was also other cars in the driveway preventing us getting in and out without having to drive into the grass•The man who came to maintain the hot tub came up, didn’t explain what he was doing or say hello, threw his tools around and then left, we didnt like this. •Mould and damp on the front room walls, cleverly covered by a wardrobe! Not that clever as it didn’t take us long to see it, we have photos taken if need to see. •No rubber matting outside the hot tub, the steps and floor was very slippery as there were wet leaves everywhere, I slipped twice luckily I wasn’t injured •On arrival, a dog wandered in and out, we had no who idea who’s it was, but wasn’t comfortable with this. All in all, it was a lovely cottage and we had some good points to make, we enjoyed the hot tub, the kitchen was lovely, comfy bed and very quiet just a shame it wasn’t private at all, and they didn’t seem to be mindful at all that people were paying to stay there for a holiday, and quite a lot of money too."

"Came here for an anniversary get away, it was the perfect hideaway! When we checked in a member of staff came to show us how to use the hot tub we asked a few questions about the surroundings she was helpful naming a few shops. But apart from that we wasn't bothered again. Only down points was having to get out the tub at 10pm and the woman that lives next door when she has visitors (which was everday) 2 cars plus hers and mine it makes it very difficult to get off the drive. There is a dirt track to get to the lodge so small cars beware. Shops were a short walk away and a small pub at the end of the hill offered nice food at a reasonable price. The cottage itself is perfect and the bed is so comfortable and I ended up falling to sleep on the sofa everyday (which I never usually do) If you are looking for a romantic peaceful getaway I could not recommend the old cottage more and I have recommended to all my family and friends. Will defiantly look at returning."

"We have just had an amazing week at this beautiful cottage, where every detail was perfect. From the little touches such as the Welcome bottle of prosecco, to the cake and even the dog treats, it was obvious how much care and attention to detail had gone in to making this stay as comfortable as possible. The owners Richard and Clare are so friendly and helpful too, and it’s nice to know they’re there for any issues or advice on the local area! The hot tub was fantastic and we spent several nights in there soothing our aching muscles after exploring the local area! The bathrobes, slippers and towels were a great addition too, they reall have thought of everything and with so many John Lewis touches, this really was a home from home.! We also thoroughly enjoyed a couple of cosy nights with the log burner which was fantastic!! This is one of the nicest properties we have stayed in and we will definitely be back.!!Thank you for making our stay so amazing.!!!!"

"The property itself was lovely, very spacious and in a good location for visiting the surrounding attractions. We did, however, have a few issues during our stay.1. The free view tv box in the sitting room was old, did not work and had exposed wires which could have electrocuted somebody. We replaced it and were told by the owner they would repay us but this has not happened.2. The fifth bedroom had two very small beds (probably only suitable for under 10s), it had no storage facility, very poor mattresses and duvets which were grubby.3. The general cleanliness was sub-standard (stains on cushions and floors, finger prints on tv and windows, fridge not clean etc).4. About 30% of the light bulbs either did not work or were missing.Money should be reinvested to bring the property up to the level expected for the star rating it has and the amount charged to stay in it. It needs a thorough clean."

"We came here for a week's holiday which also included our anniversary. Couldn't recommend it enough. The cottage itself is beautiful. It has everything you could need as well as lots of cute little touches. It's furnished to a very high standard and the garden/patio is where we spent most of our time. The swing next to the stream was by far the most peaceful place I've binge read my book in. It isn't overlooked. There is parking and a private entrance right outside. Within 5 minutes you're in Whaley Bridge and 10, you're in Buxton. It is perfectly placed without being in a busy location. Lots of mod cons and the comfiest sofa. We're already looking into dates for booking again. It's our favourite holiday so far."
