What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Occitanie To Rent.

"This is a beautiful gite in a beautiful location. We were concerned that it was going to be very isolated, but that is not the case. The Spar shop in Catus was a welcome surprise that catered for all our daily shopping requirements. The Auberge restaurant, also in Catus, was great for lunch or dinner. The gite itself is very well laid out and well equipped. There was plenty of space for 6 adults, although perhaps the bedroom accommodation would have been rather cramped for 8 adults, which was our original plan. The two terraces, the 'pool terrace' and the 'dining terrace' provided a great choice of eating areas depending on the temperature and wind direction. The pool was very welcome during the hot weather we had throughout our stay; the edging slabs are not the best laid, but certainly weren't a problem. For the early risers, there is plenty of wildlife to see in the garden, which was bigger than we ever imagined: deer, green woodpeckers and red squirrels to name but a few were all sighted! Visits to the amazing towns and villages of the dramatic Lot valley completed our excellent fortnight spent at Maison Montgesty."

"The house itself is typical of the area, however its position is right on the road which is not evident from the photos. Whilst not overly busy, traffic passes the house at high speed which is very noisy and a blind bend means leaving the property by car is hazardous. The downstairs is characterful and spacious. The kitchen is well appointed though starting to show its age. The bedrooms are of a good size but the bedding and towels supplied need updating as do the mattresses and some of the furniture. The pool is excellent, though for 8 there are not enough loungers which do not have cushions and some are very old. Plastic glasses should be supplied as no food or drink is allowed by the pool. The garden is fenced off but the main gate is held together with string which for children or pets is not secure. Also there is an old barn in the grounds the roof of which looks like it could easily collapse and though there is a Keep Out sign adventurous children could be at significant risk."

"Beautiful location and villa. Beds very uncomfortable. Pool is situated out of site of the villa by the owners home. Therefore had to supervise the pool so couldn’t bbq with kids in pool etc or no big wine glasses or glasses for soft drinks only tiny glasses. Owner provided tonnes of pool towels which was very helpful but we had no guest towels. We went in a very very hot week (38 degrees) and inside villa was too hot so actually left early but not owners fault plenty of fans provided but will be looking for air conditioned place next time. Lots of facilities available like table tennis and bikes to use. Location is fab but quite a trek to the bigger tourist places."

"A few niggles but nothing that would stop us returning. Some pieces of furniture on their last legs, which were fixed or replaced whilst we were there, one bathroom sink would not empty and a dripping downstairs loo tap, only three sunbed cushions for eight sun beds and a pretty minging kettle which needs replacing - all easy fixes which should really be carried out as the cost would be minimal. Apart from that it was excellent and really good value."

"What a lovely, helpful owner Marie Christine is. Nothing was too much trouble if we asked for anything. The villa is spacious, well equipped and immaculate and totally private. The pool is very clean and massive! Loads of sun loungers for everyone. Supermarket two minutes away by car. We were on a driving holiday so location ideal but you do need a car for sightseeing, restaurants etc. We had the most wonderful time In this beautiful villa."
