"We had a fantastic stay, beautiful weather helped tremendously! Fantastic facilities for kids, our 2yr old loved the slides and mud kitchen, but mostly kept taking us on trips around the garden. Older kids would have been entertained for hours.Great location for a fun packed week- around 30mins away from castles, zoo, ice cream farm...!Well stocked kitchen, great to have the washing machine and dishwasher there. Decent oven.Only a couple of things could have been improved... The twin room was part of the landing, which was a bit noisey and a couple of nights we had the landing light turned on in the room at 3am by one of the other family members nipping to the loo. Just adding a partition wall would improve this greatly. We ended up putting our daughter in the double room and we had the twin, not the most comfortable for a 6ft man to sleep in!Couple of beds were noisey just turning over was loud, and some were uncomfortable.Kettle and toaster took forever to boil and toast, made me truly glad to have a decent set at home! The travel cot we were given didn't have a sheet on the mattress, thankfully id brought one with me.Other than that, had a great, quiet relaxing week. We would definitely recommend."

"The property itself was lovely, very spacious and in a good location for visiting the surrounding attractions. We did, however, have a few issues during our stay.1. The free view tv box in the sitting room was old, did not work and had exposed wires which could have electrocuted somebody. We replaced it and were told by the owner they would repay us but this has not happened.2. The fifth bedroom had two very small beds (probably only suitable for under 10s), it had no storage facility, very poor mattresses and duvets which were grubby.3. The general cleanliness was sub-standard (stains on cushions and floors, finger prints on tv and windows, fridge not clean etc).4. About 30% of the light bulbs either did not work or were missing.Money should be reinvested to bring the property up to the level expected for the star rating it has and the amount charged to stay in it. It needs a thorough clean."

"We had a lovely holiday at the Granary. Apart from small problem with the downstairs shower drainage the facilities were excellent. We had copious hot water, good cooking facilities, wifi, TVs, space to move around. The Granary is warm, with lots of natural light and lovely outdoor garden space. The boys couldn't play football outside but there were plenty of tournaments on the pool table - a fab quality table which is unusual in holiday rentals. We arrived to a log fire in the living room and welcome gifts. The town of Nantwich is 10 minutes away but you feel that you are in the middle of the countryside. Throughout easter week we visited Liverpool, Southport beach, Chester, and Knowsley safari park and had a great time. The Granary is good base to visit the surrounding area or to just chill out 'at home'. We would definitely come back."

"Weetwood Lodge was all that we hoped for. The owners were lovely. The property had very pleasant views over the owners' fields. Nearby were longhorn cattle which we don't often see. We were tense from work when we arrived but we soon unwound. It is the ideal place to come to relax, read and chill and is well equipped. There were interesting places within easy driving distance such as Knutsford which has an excellent street market on a Sunday with crafts etc. We also enjoyed visiting the Shire Horse farm, the excellent local farm shops and our favourite restaurant in Kelsall, The Morris Dancer. Thank you very much to the owners for a very enjoyable week, we would love to come again."

"This is a lovely cottage in peaceful surroundings. It is very well equipped and really nicely decorated, although I would agree with a previous review that the sofas could do with replacing, as they have definitely seen better days! I am a bit obsessed with good showers in cottages and I am pleased to say that this one did not disappoint! The weather was poor during our stay but we did have a quick wander in the garden/woods and I would say that if you have children - and the weather is kind - this facility is an added bonus!Overall, we had a lovely break at Woodland Retreat. Thank you to the hosts - the welcome pack of goodies was very kind too."
