"Quettehou is a lovely area. On arrival to get to the cottage you drive through a lovely archway and has a great garden. It isn't obvious which is the cottage, but it's the middle one. The cottage is OK, but not to any standard I have ever stayed in whilst in the UK. In reality, the cottage is tired and needs quite a bit of work, but that may just be atypical of France. The kitchen is very dated but functional. There is a microwave and a small worktop oven, which just about does what it can. The crockery and cooking utensils are old and tired but usable. A new frying pan doesn't cost much. The filter on the fan above the oven needs cleaning and the steel cleaner left in the sink was rusty. In the utility, there is an old style washing machine (no instructions, but we worked it out) and a small fridge freezer (and I mean small). The downstairs bathroom was ok, though again tired. The shower head is in desperate need of replacing, the light above the sink had wires showing. There were 2 bars of used soap in a dish. Surely new soap for occupants would have been a simple thing.?Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a toilet room. I say toilet room as it's big enough to be a bedroom but has a toilet and a sink and loads of spare space. The bedrooms are big enough, but my oh my, the mattresses in both rooms are so hard. I don't think we got much sleep all week. There is free WiFi, though if you have a problem, just reset it by unplugging the extender and after a few mins putting it back in. This only happened the once and doing that fixed the issue.Overall, the cottage is ok if you are not going to spend much time there, i.e. sleep (well if you like rock hard mattresses that is). The minimum charge for cleaning is 50 Euros. In addition, if you want bedding, take your own. I'm not sure the last time this bedding was replaced, but again it needs replacing. It was clean. There is a BBQ and some garden furniture. Again, it could do with replacing. The umbrella's cloth is worn, the table and chairs (plastic is functional) are not even the same colour. We expected to pay under 100 Euros for the cleaning, bedding for 3 and the tourist tax. It was over and more than we thought it would be. French is his only language. He will show you the meter readings on day one too, on the last day he'll take them again and charge you. For a week our it wasn't bad.The differences from France to the UK are that the cleaning, bedding and utility charges are all included. These add a lot more to your stay (roughly £100). This seems common in France though. Plus, don't expect the standard you are used to in the UK. I'm sure all the rules our cottages adhere to are valid there too (surely come under EU rules?) but don't expect them to be of the same standard. For local shops there is Quettehou (about a mile away) and a medium sized Carrefour (en route to St Vaast La Hougue) that also has a petrol station (about 2 miles from cottage). The tide goes out quite some distance and is amazing to see. You can walk out some way and still be knee deep in the water. The beach is rocky nearby but there are some much sandier beaches a few miles up or down the coast. They are very clean though."

"Beautiful surroundings for leisure seekers and nature lovers, for people with dogs an ideal place. The Boulangerie is all you need for your stay, it is quiet, no traffic and you have all the space, and a garden as big as a voetbalveld.s, sickle-night it is really dark (no street lights) Take for s night something against muggen.en a flashlight is also useful. Maybe for 4 persons on the tight side, you better La maison du jardin huren.Vriendelijke hosts, the Comte and Comtesse. Lots of cultural and historic towns in the area, everything is doing in terms of distance by car. Le Mont Saint Michel is 10 minutes away and you're there all day, sweet, visited 2x, very impressive! With a dog you should not take the shuttle bus but walk to the Abbey is much nicer and quieter (30 minutes) and then enjoy eating mussels on a terrace! Saint-Malo, Dinan, Bayeux, Granville, Omaha Beach (D-Day), all breathtaking! The food is excellent everywhere, the people are friendly and helpful. Nearby is a lovely supermarket where AH many can learn. One week is too short. Normandy and Brittany is so wide and vast and so beautiful that we already know we come back here next time. And then again in Chateau B"

"Very nice home in a nice property. A heated swimming pool (12 meters long) for their own use. From 2008, even rented a house and pool to be shared, this should not be a problem because the pool and the areas around it are more than riant.De owner speaks excellent English and is very kind and welcoming. The beds are of good quality and sufficiently long. In itself, we are very pleased with the house and the estate but we want to hear. Few minor points of criticism More than listed below we really could not bedenken.Het toilet is located on the ground floor, this is actually a space that serves as a kitchen / room, the toilet is woodwork but the sounds (and smells) easily penetrate into the room. The owner has indicated in winter 2007/2008 to move to the upstairs bathroom, the toilet is in 2008 that the problem will be solved. Additionally, the cottage is quite noisy, so if the kids go to bed earlier (upstairs) is lower than even the whisper even to understand, and vice versa. When children or the elderly can not sleep thus: earbuds are in French: Boules Quies. It seems to me that the owner can improve something simple here, there is a wooden floor without"

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely farmhouse! We had a warm welcome from the young Landlady. They are really charming (they speak French). The Landlady was always very helpful if we had any questions regarding shopping, restaurants or other places of interest (beach, places to do sports ...) The rooms were newly renovated so the technical and sanitary facilities were all up to date. Still it was charming as a wooden staircase, old doors and floors (and fresh flowers as a welcome). It was very clean and well maintained. The room is separate from the living room. The kitchen is very well equipped (dishes and tools) with a roomy fridge including a freezer. We enjoyed living close to farm life the kids could play with a little goat and we even got some fresh eggs. Yet the place is private and quiet (new windows!) And pleasantly cool when it is hot outside.During our 2 week stay we enjoyed trips to Le Havre, Honfleur, Etretat, Fecamp, Lillebonne, Rouen and even Giverny - all easy to reach , We recommend you to go hiking in the area around La Remuée and Saint Romain de Colbosc - the scenery is beautiful!"

"Together with our 1 year old daughter, we have a week in the bakery may stay. On arrival we were welcomed by the very friendly owner. The bakery is truly a feast for the eyes, both outside and inside. Everything is there, to a washer to it. The wooden floor creaks very top, but after a few days, we knew exactly how to maneuver over it .... totally had no problems .... even have charm ... On hot days the inside nice and cool, continued to be outside enjoy a good terrace with garden furniture ... well beyond the pebbles had a huge attraction to our daughter, she has tasted. almost all Close to a well maintained and clean pool. Enjoyed the tranquility of the landgoed.De owner has some tips about the area. We were very fond of the old town of St Malo, Mont St. Michel is also a must, of course. Also visited the medieval town Dinand and the coastal town of Cancale. Again favorites. excellent short stay, beautiful surroundings, neat and clean accommodation, friendly people and quiet .....
