"The toilet in the downstairs bathroom could only be used by holding the toilet seat up and sitting sideways. The shower head upstairs needed to be deep cleaned before we could use it. There was no mirror in the double bedroom so used the single front bedroom which walls were in need of decorating. The step up and down from the landing into the single rooms were dangerous and the banister was coming away from the top of the stairs. When we booked the cottage our only stipulation was that the cottage took two small dogs and had an enclosed garden. The small stone walled back yard with no flowers is not a garden with the smell of overflowing bins. The lounge lamp no bulb or spare the ceiling light contained cobwebs and the microwave you could write your name on the dust on the top of it. As for spending quality time in the cottage we only had our breakfast on our knees in the lounge as the kitchen chairs were marked with whatever as was the back door and handle which we cleaned before we could open . We did not leave any of these details in the visitors book so as not to dishearten any future holidaymakers. We enjoyed our holiday in Northumberland as it was a well earned break but it could have been a great holiday if we had stayed in a welcoming home."

"- Points cooker very dirty, two pairs of dirty and smelly socks by radiator, huge cobweb in window light with as may as 20 to 30 dead wasps in webdid clean ourself, no WiFi code little other cottage notes, but mainly heating not working. Cottage owner contacted didn’t seem to believe problems but did immediately arrange local agent to pop around.+ Agent got WiFi code from cottage next door, primed boiler pressure and got heating in adjoining cottage working but controls in Megs cottage not working so no heating except for free standing electric radiators. Eventually moved to one of the agents cottages at Belford clean but not ideal for a person with walking difficulties as bedroom upstairs. Would I stay there again if property was cleaned and maintained properly then yes as it’s in a great location."

"Couldn't of wished for a more beautiful cottage only a short car ride to Beadnal which has a gorgeous beach which our 9 mnth puppy enjoyed. The cottage kitchen was more equipt than my own kitchen the garden is enclosed by a stone wall with amazing views over it. My only little fault is the fence next to the other cottage is a slat fence our dog isn't very tall and he could stand up on it using his paws it's also open slats so I think had someone of been staying next door and had a dog our dog likes to woof at other dogs to get them to come to him to play. However there is another garden across the little road where you park your car which is lovely. We really enjoyed our week made even more special by amazing weather."

"Great holiday and the house was in a convenient location. Didn't like the fact that some houses nearby looked a bit rough. Inside the house was clean apart from the dog blankets appears to have never been washed. Out of courtesy I used one for my dog though he doesn't malt. However I had to wash it first as it was covered in black hairs and smelled bad. Also one of the single beds had black dog hairs in it so clearly hasn't been washed prior to our stay. The windows were filthy and the kitchen floor tiles were also not clean. The mop head was foul and black and I had to soak in bleach before I could use it. There was also black grime in the ensuite shower around the tap. Everything else was ok."

"We had a fantastic week in Northumberland, helped by the fantastic weather. What a beautiful part of the country. The cottage was exactly as described. We wanted a rural setting to enjoy the countryside but also to be a short drive to the beach. It was perfect for us and our Springer Spaniel. It was great having 2 gardens - the one at the back of the property was lovely - much more private. They weren't particularly secure though - dog owners need to bear this in mind.I think with a bit more attention to detail, this property could be superb. It had one of the best showers I've ever used - it was extremely powerful. Perfect when you've been on the beach all day."
