What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Newton By The Sea To Rent.
- Mrs Hodgson, August 2016 - verified booking
"We enjoyed our stay at Gabby Cottage. It had everything we could've needed. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of clean towels. The Cottage was clean and cosy. The enclosed back garden was good for the children to play safely. The parking would be an issue if there were more than one car. With this in mind, two of the adults travelled to Embleton by bus, then got picked up there to travel to Christon Bank. This wasn't an issue for us but might put others off booking the Cottage. The road through is extremely busy through the day, with drivers ignoring the 30 mile limit. Therefore children need to be watched closely getting to and from the car. There is not much to do in Christon Bank its self but it is a good base for easy reach of the coast and beautiful beaches of Low Newton and Embleton. The information left in the Cottage about places to visit etc was useful. There was mention of a welcome pack and also of a visitors book to sign. Neither of which we were able to locate in the Cottage. This caused us to wonder how up to date the information file was, but again, not an issue for us. We would definitely consider booking Gabby Cottage again for our holiday."

"Nice little cottage with surprisingly large living room and very well-equipped kitchen. Within easy distance of the coast and its many castles/beaches and Alwnich and areas beyond. Owner very thoughtful and helpful - e.g welcome pack on arrival which we didn't expect. We went during October half term and the cottage was warm and cosy. The village of Embleton itself is nothing special but Warkworth, Amble and other towns on the coast are lovely - and the countryside over towards Rothbury (and further south if you venture down to Hadrian's Wall) is stunning. Plenty of eating and shopping in nearby Alnwick, where you can access the A1. We enjoyed our time very much."
Mrs Sutherland, Glenrothes, Fife - verified booking
"Craster Reach is a lovely cottage in a pretty location. It is very well presented throughout. Bathrooms are stunning, and the bedrooms gorgeous with comfortable beds and beautiful soft furnishings. Views from back windows down over the harbour to the sea and castle are amazing. Nice seating area on front decking that catches the morning and late afternoon sun. Pub at the bottom of road very handy for a drink in the beer garden or indoors if weather wet. Walks along the coast in either direction from Craster and several inland kept us fit whilst enjoying the scenery and fresh air."

"Have just come home from the most memorable weekend away at Gabby Cottage in Christon Bank. On arrival what a lovely surprise to find two full vases of fresh flowers, bottle of white wine, Organic eggs and bacon, coffee, freshly baked bread and teabags etc. The attention to detail was just superb and the cottage is equipped to a very high standard. The weather has been superb and we were sad to leave. Would highly recommend this property to all. We all absolutely loved the cottage. Thank you to the owner for excellent service."

"Accomodation was perfect for a family holiday, well equipped kitchen. We did have a problem with the hot water but one phone call to the landlord and it was sorted within in the day. The location was great, short drive to Low Newton with the excellent Ship Inn pub and beach. Great for exploring Northumberland. Parking wasn't an issue but was on street and the road could be quite busy at times - just needed to keep this in mind with little ones around. All in all a fabulous comfortable stay in a great location."
