What our customers are saying about our Family Cottages In Newton By The Sea To Rent.

"The Wheel Rooms are well designed and very well equipped.(Having two dishwashers as well as a washing machine and tumble drier is great for a big group.) There are as many bathrooms as bedrooms though one is thoughtfully off the lounge area, so vistors can use it. The flat makes good use of the ground floor of the mill and there is lots of room - with two lounges and a spacious kitchen. The site is dramatic, with the river rushing by, and the location great for Bamburgh, Sea Houses and Holy Island. Being in a valley we couldn't get mobile phone signals in the house but the signal was strong up the hill a couple of hundred yards away. We didn't have wi-fi till our last evening but that may have been due to the thunderstorms the previous week. For us, the idea of a holiday is to get away from it all, so the absence of these communication technologies was no bad thing!Unfortunately when we stayed there, it didn't seem to be as well maintained as it should have been, with several washbasins and showers not draining very well, one of the toilets either flushing continuosly or not flushing at all, and the sewage treatment plant rather smelly though that might have been something to do with the amount of rain we had.Dont let these things put you off: Its a great place for a family holiday!"

"Bungalow surrounded by a drive full of tall weeds, plus dirty windows and frames, and garden furniture covered with green mould. The lawn was just uncared for overgrown grass. Inside no light bulbs in twin bedroom. I had to ask for some bed pillows and was given two thin small pillows , old and not fit for purpose. There was no dressing table or flat surface to put ones make up or other bits and pieces on. In the en-suite there was no towel rail, toilet paper holder and nowhere to put your toilet things. no shaver point for razers or an electric toothbrush. There was no chair to put your clothes on. The bathroom was no better and we had to share the one and only sink plug. We were very disappointed by the bungalow ,and the golf club we were told we could use, was now closed for good. the owner offered us two free meals in his hotel but the first meal was so awful that we never went back. All in all a dreadful holiday let ,but the surrounding countryside is wonderful.Definately not worth the money I paid."

"Lovely house. Very comfortable and clean - all like new. Great location very short walk to the beach. We visited with my teenage daughter and her friend, they loved the tennis court and being able to walk to the beach by themselves. They even went crabbing! Beautiful area, lovely walks, even went for a run on the beach. Beach yoga available on weekends too. Would also be great with smaller children, rock pools a short walk away and beach goes on for miles, tide goes out a long way so lots of shallow water.Houses are quite close together which I was a little concerned about (we are not used to neighbours where we live) but it really wasn’t an issue. Still very quiet. Would love to visit again one day."

"First of all it's advertised as having 4 en-suite rooms when it only has three en-suite. The living area is packed with tables and chairs, there is accommodation for 10 people but there is seating ( at table) for at least 25. This means that the lounge seating is crammed into one corner. The decor is,at best, passable but the house feels 'tired' and could do with a deep cleaning. A strong smell of sewage is all pervasive meaning that you can't open the living area windows. On the plus front, the site is quiet and fairly secluded and the local area is beautiful. The coast, which is only a couple of miles away, has beautiful clean beaches, friendly inhabitants and free parking."

"All the houses within this development are very close together. If all the houses were occupied I imagine that the area could become quite noisy and there would be a subsequent lack of privacy within a lot of houses within the development.Beadnell has a small general store but there's not a lot of variety on offer which seems a bit strange given all the self-catering properties and caravan sites within the village. You really have to travel to Seahouses for a greater variety of Restaurants, a filling station, and a supermarket.Beadnell is certainly a more pleasant village than Seahouses due in part to the lack of commercial & industrial influences"
