What our customers are saying about our Child Friendly Cottages In Newton By The Sea To Rent.

"The Wheel Rooms are well designed and very well equipped.(Having two dishwashers as well as a washing machine and tumble drier is great for a big group.) There are as many bathrooms as bedrooms though one is thoughtfully off the lounge area, so vistors can use it. The flat makes good use of the ground floor of the mill and there is lots of room - with two lounges and a spacious kitchen. The site is dramatic, with the river rushing by, and the location great for Bamburgh, Sea Houses and Holy Island. Being in a valley we couldn't get mobile phone signals in the house but the signal was strong up the hill a couple of hundred yards away. We didn't have wi-fi till our last evening but that may have been due to the thunderstorms the previous week. For us, the idea of a holiday is to get away from it all, so the absence of these communication technologies was no bad thing!Unfortunately when we stayed there, it didn't seem to be as well maintained as it should have been, with several washbasins and showers not draining very well, one of the toilets either flushing continuosly or not flushing at all, and the sewage treatment plant rather smelly though that might have been something to do with the amount of rain we had.Dont let these things put you off: Its a great place for a family holiday!"

"The apartment is a bit like Jekyll and Hyde. On the positive side all the equipment was there and worked fine, the views from the lounge are superb we even saw Dolphin just outside the Harbour wall on our last night and the pool was clean and well maintained. Apartment cleanliness was fine overall as was the bed linen. On the negative side the apartment is looking quite tired, all of the beds/mattresses need replacing as does the dining table, some evidence of mildew in the shower and bathroom, wear and tear to the carpets. There is no internet / Wifi in the property. There is also an extra charge for the pool payable on departure in our view this should be included in the price of the stay."

"First of all it's advertised as having 4 en-suite rooms when it only has three en-suite. The living area is packed with tables and chairs, there is accommodation for 10 people but there is seating ( at table) for at least 25. This means that the lounge seating is crammed into one corner. The decor is,at best, passable but the house feels 'tired' and could do with a deep cleaning. A strong smell of sewage is all pervasive meaning that you can't open the living area windows. On the plus front, the site is quiet and fairly secluded and the local area is beautiful. The coast, which is only a couple of miles away, has beautiful clean beaches, friendly inhabitants and free parking."

"Very spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped house in an ideal location to explore Amble and Northumberland. The owners really have thought of everything with dog towel & bowls, stair gates, toys and games, a movable fence/gate to secure or open up the rear garden and many more things on top of everything that you would normally expect to find in a holiday home. And with bus stops to travel to the north and south right outside the front door, Amble's main shopping street around the corner and a field for walking dogs less than 5 minutes walk away it really couldn't be in a better position. Couldn't fault it and would definitely recommend."

"Impressive conversion of an old mill in a pleasant location with approachable and helpful owners on hand. Very well equipped with good facilities to suit a variety of users. Bedroom three was found to be cramped for a double bed - a comment made several times in the visitors' book. Another high-backed chair would be helpful to enable older guests to relax, rather than the low-backed settees. Those of us with hearing aids found a lack of soft-furnishings in the lounge unhelpful because noise bounced off the walls, windows and ceiling.Generally the property was comfortable and much appreciated and is certainly recommended."
