"Probably the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. Spacious; light; comfortable; beautifully furnished; well equipped; contemporary and spotlessly clean. The bed in the main bedroom is huge ( as is the room) and so comfortable! Fabulous bathrooms with walk in showers, but also two deep soaking bathtubs. Lots of storage space! Private parking is allocated just outside the entrance. All that plus very friendly and helpful owners!Beautiful views of the estuary from all front windows and within a few minutes walk of pubs, cafes, shops etc in Alnmouth, as well as the beach and riverside walks. Alnwick is only a short drive away. The location is great for exploring further afield : up and down the coast ; across to the National Park and down to Hadrians Wall. The apartment is reached via a lift ( or stairs) and the downstairs is completely accessible. It's difficult to find fault but the only potential downsides, depending on your needs and preferences are that there is no private sitting out area (at the other side of the small housing development and shared with another property) and the approach road is very steep to walk if you have mobility problems.Overall, a stunning property in a wonderful part of the country. We just loved it , have already recommended it to friends and hope to return. Thank you to Emma and her lovely Dad."

"The cottage's decor is very dated and needs an upgrade. We didn't like the hostile notices stuck up all over the place telling us not to do this and not to do that! Of all the cottages we've stayed in over the years, this is the first one where there wasn't a welcome pack, not even a small bottle of milk or a few tea bags was available on arrival. When we've stayed in Cornwall/Devon scones, jam, cream and a bottle of wine/cider was provided along with tea/coffee, milk so the customer relations for this cottage needs some work!We were also unsure what the extra money we had to leave on the table was for as we didn't use the pool and you would expect the lighting in the car park to be included. We were also absolutely astonished that there was no WiFi as it hadn't occurred to us that there wouldn't be!The only good thing was the view from the lounge over the harbour and the cottage's close location to the village."

"The cottage has a spectacular view of the harbour and therefore lots of sea birds. There is lots of space and having 2 bathrooms for 3 bedrooms was great. However the cottage was constantly overheated even when we turned off the storage heaters. This may have been due to their being a pool downstairs. Also there were so many cross notices saying what NOT to do. That felt like overkill. Obviously they had trouble in the past but they could have worded information better. And there wasn’t great information when we arrived. We had to hunt for the pool that was available and it would have been nice to have a welcome note."

"This is an extremely spacious, comfortable ‘home from home’. The under floor heating makes it extremely cosy, great for cold, February days! As well as the large table in the sitting area there is also a handy table and breakfast bar in the kitchen. Kitchen is well equipped and sitting area is huge and great to relax in. The only thing we missed was a nest of tables in the sitting area, on which to set drinks. Location was great for exploring the local area. All in all, a wonderful, restful family holiday. Would definitely recommend this property and would love to go back."

"Craster Reach is a lovely cottage in a pretty location. It is very well presented throughout. Bathrooms are stunning, and the bedrooms gorgeous with comfortable beds and beautiful soft furnishings. Views from back windows down over the harbour to the sea and castle are amazing. Nice seating area on front decking that catches the morning and late afternoon sun. Pub at the bottom of road very handy for a drink in the beer garden or indoors if weather wet. Walks along the coast in either direction from Craster and several inland kept us fit whilst enjoying the scenery and fresh air."
