"This lodge isn't really large enough for six people. The bunk room is barely large enough to get the bunk in. The living area was only just adequate for six people to be in. The provision of crockery, cutlery and glasses wasn't sufficient for six people - most people have more than one drink and one meal in a day, so exactly six large plates and six glasses isn't enough. Cooking equipment seemed a bit random and missing items such as baking trays too.The lodge is very close to other lodges and the fencing between the lodges is quite "industrial" in nature. We were fortunate in that most of the other lodges weren't occupied for most of the week but it was inevitably quite noisy when they were, and also meant we were conscious of not disturbing other guests. The pool was good, but it seemed a bit early to close it at 7pm (why so early?) and the rules for its use are quite restrictive. The games room was too hot to enjoy although was well equipped. Most disappointing was the wifi/internet provision. Whilst we accept that rural internet speeds can be low, the internet access was so slow as to be unusable. This would be bad enough, but to be charged an additional £20 for the privilege seems like rubbing salt into the wound. Not unreasonably, we expected that the £20 charge was to enable a decent connection to be provided. I'd recommend future guests not to use the provided wifi but to bring their own 4G wireless access point instead."

"We stayed in Oak Apple cottage for a week in August 2016 with two children and grandparents. We had great weather which always helps but we all had a fabulous time. The owners were very helpful and very friendly and the on-site shop sells most essentials plus delicious fresh products from the farm. The cottage was much larger than other holiday lets we've stayed at, with its own BBQ and outside table and chairs, and the heated pool (lovely and warm) and kids play park were a huge bonus and were used every day by the kids. There is so much to do within 30 minutes travelling in any direction that we could come back several times and do something new each day. My son loved the fact it was a working farm and he could watch a variety of farm vehicles at work and see chickens roaming close by. However this does mean there can be noisy animals in the night so take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper! If it wasn't for a few nit picking details (like no clothes line/airer to dry swimming stuff on; dirty floors on arrival (discovered by us all having black feet after a few hours in the cottage); permanently warm/heated floors even in warm weather and bathroom door locks that didn't work) then I would have given 10 stars as its a really nice place and suited us well. We would definitely go back here!"

"We have been to this cottage many times now over the years & wouldn't stay anywhere else. It is a home from home, very clean & tidy & we love it. It starts with the welcoming flowers & treats. It is comfortable, spacious & very well equipped, everything you need is here. They are very dog friendly & even have food & water bowls to save bringing your own. The wonderful Bovey Tracey has many walks & places to visit not far away. There are several supermarkets & local shops which cater for all your needs. Also 2 pubs a minuets walk away. The local church is beautiful inside & the bell ringers very friendly & proud of their church.Although the cottage is close to the main road through Bovey, you cannot hear the traffic at all as it's behind the houses that line the road. It can be a bit tricky to get into Orchards Way on your first visit & is best approached going uphill. We have a large Shogun so if we can get in, cars can easily! I was in need of the local garage this visit as the car broke down. J. Sibly a minuets walk away came to me rescue & despite them being completely booked up for jobs they very kindly fitted me in & got me going again. Cannot praise them enough!"

"We were welcomed with big smiles from all the family and they couldn't do enough for us on arrival. The accommodation was fantastic, very modern and well equipped, right down to kitchen essentials and a welcoming box of gorgeous home made cup cakes and free range eggs courtesy of the farms chickens. Only slight negative was attention to bathroom cleanliness but definitely wasn't something to cause a fuss about. The on site pool was a great addition, clean and safe, other facilities in and around the site for all to use were very well maintained. Our dog had just as wonderful break as we did and the free roaming chickens were quite entertaining for him! Only down side was lack of public footpaths in the immediate vicinity, had to keep taking the dog out in the car. Maybe a games room of sorts would be an advantage at some stage but overall we had a fabulous break, would definitely recommend to friends and will be back sometime next year. Many thanks for making it such a lovely break away."

"We've stayed at Little Dunley before and loved it! I would recommend you phone a few days before you are due to arrive, rather than leaving it until the day before, as we did - despite trying numerous times we couldn't get hold of anyone and the only way of getting into the cottage was to guess the code to the key safe! Unfortunately, we had a problem with flies when we arrived but after a phone call to the owner (whose mobile number was in the info pack inside the cottage!), it was sorted very quickly by the caretaker. As before, the children LOVED the very well kept swimming pool and games room (and the nearby House of Marbles!), and really enjoyed using the tennis court. We hope to be back, but would probably choose to stay in Oaktree Cottage instead, if possible."
