"The photos don’t do this property justice. It’s a lovely, large family home. Disappointed however that there was no outdoor furniture (despite this being listed in the property’s amenities) so we couldn’t make use of this large garden in the summer heatwave. The garden was quite unkempt too which is a shame as we couldn’t just lie out because the grass was too long and it wasn’t great for the kids to run around in as there were too many long weeds and nettles poking out from the borders.Having said that, we still really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it. I went with my two children (18 & 12) and my sister with her two children (19 & 16) and there was enough space for us to spread out and chill out or sit together socially.Ideal location just off the A1 and not far to the local supermarkets in Alnwick (about 6 miles). The living room with log burner will be beautiful to cosy up in on the colder months.Overall, I would recommend and I would go back."

"Excellent cottage owned by the lovely Michelle (we didn’t meet Robin). Spotlessly clean, everything worked as it should, soft towels and the best welcome basket ever. Not that we cooked (unless you count a baked potato one evening) but there were plenty of utensils, a very good oven with instructions, and sharp knives should you wish to stay in and cook. Cottage also had the most comfortable seating that we have ever encountered in a holiday cottage. Sitting relaxing in a recliner with feet up was bliss after a long day out and just like being at home but with no stress. Comfortable seating in conservatory also. Dining table in conservatory and it was chilly a couple of mornings but we put fan heater on for a few minutes each time which resolved problem. Ate out in the evenings in Corbridge or Hexham as no pub we liked the look of in close proximity to cottage, but no problem as easy drive to both. All in all a super cottage we would return to."

"Great cottage in many respects: excellent bathroom, really comfortable bed, roomy and quiet. But it had some downsides in that there is no mobile phone or internet reception in the cottage you need to go to the car park to get phone reception. Although surface clean a really good spring clean is needed, windows dirty, dusty corners etc. The bathroom basin and shower liquid soap dispensers were both empty and the television control gun did not work since it was short of a battery and I had to pinch a battery from the other control to make it work. The cooker hob is also not easy to operate. The spiral staircase is also a bit difficult to use. However the cottage is in a lovely location with country walks straight from the door and has easy access by car to places of interest. The owner is friendly and gave us half a dozen fresh eggs mid week.So overall it is a case of good but it could do a bit better."

"Gorgeous stay, very rural as about 6 miles into the village for a small Co op but we enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and the privacy. No bath so washing the baby and little boy in the shower was tricky, and the carpet is cream and new so beware messy eaters (i.e all kids) so we dined outside. There is an iron and board but this isn't advertised on the site, and when I phoned up to ask this company I was told there wasn't one, so had to take my own which was a bit of a pain and waste of time. No washing machine but the owners do a service on a Wednesday - this was too late in the week for us so we had to find a laundrette. Would certainly return to this beautiful cottage as the garden is literally in a cow field and we enjoyed the highland cows, sheep, pheasants, red squirrels and rabbits who came to visit us. We also enjoyed the lovely fresh eggs the owner brought us."

"We stayed here for a week for the Easter holidays and had such a great time. The owners met us on arrival and were very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. They even left us some milk, eggs, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine which were lovely touches. They also purchased a parking disc which was very handy allowing free parking in various locations throughout Northumberland. The accommodation was excellent and had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable and the upstairs bedrooms had huge en-suites which were very handy, especially having 7 people in the house. The location was also great, out in the country with the town of Morpeth only a couple of miles away, which has everything you need including a Morrisons and Lidl for those essentials whilst away. All in all it was fantastic and will definitely stay here again in the future."
