"This was a lovely cottage, it was situated at the end of a lane so the children could play in the garden without me worrying about traffic. The garden is massive with goal posts, sit and ride toys and apple and plums growing. The owner encouraged us to pick them and use them in our cooking. The cottage is fully equiped the only things id to take was our food. There was a sideboard full of board games, paper, crayons, dvd's and a wii with games for us to use. The bedrooms were a good size with fresh bedding and towels, the childrens room were bunkbeds with toys in the room for the children to play with if the weather wasnt good. There was a file on where to go on days out, how to use the rayburn, put the hotwater on more etc. We were 25mins away from Alton Towers which we took advantage of. Theres plenty of eating places around the corners one in particular was called JR Smoke House which was reasonably priced and lots of choice. This cottage is like home from home and we really enjoyed our stay here."

"The Barns is a bit like a tardis. The outside looks good, but inside it is stunning. The entrance hall has a day bed which pulls out to a double bed, the utility is huge with washer, tumble dryer and a selection of irons plus lots of extra bedding. The sitting room is huge and looks out on the paddock with a friendly donkey and pair of Shetland ponies. The kitchen is large and well equipped with patio doors that lead out to a paved area with picnic bench and barbecue. The master bedroom is stunning, with exposed wooden beam and plenty of room in the second double bedroom and single bedroom. We have 2 dogs and normally struggle to find places to stay. The Barns is by far and away the best rental we have found.Thoughtful touches such as games, books and dvds being available, plus the friendly farm dog Sid who greeted us every day were an added bonus. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Amazing."

"We had a lovely, friendly and informative welcome from Paula. The cottage proved to be relaxing, cosy and a perfect size for our party of 3 people. Some might find notices about family heirlooms to be a little daunting. Others will appreciate their need. Some kitchen equipment could be more suitable for use in the microwave, but much depends on someone's style of cooking. The lack of a downstairs toilet may be a restriction for some. The countryside is very appealing and the cottage is well placed to explore the Potteries, North Shropshire, South Cheshire and Dovedale and the Manifold and Churnet Valleys. Overall, this is a lovely, cared for cottage with many appealing features which make for a great break in North Staffordshire, a most underrated part of the country. The admin of booking, confirmation and preparation for the visit were most efficient and trouble free."

"We loved the accommodation however there were several issues during our stay including a hob that didn’t fully work and want reported in the first day yet way never fixed or even commented on again, also when we did use it it tripped the electrics. Also the WiFi was continuesly dropping out and the hot tub controls were locked and took a day to unlock. Furthermore we were charged £25 for the use of the bbq which they advertise as providing with no mention of a charge. This said the accommodation was very nice and well presented although the kitchen was not well equipmented with utensils. We also found the owners very unwelcoming which was a shame as we were pleased with the house it was a shame that they small things ruined the stay."

"Stayed for a long weekend. Cottage well appointed and very comfortable - loved the log burner! Pub/ restaurant next door ( very nice) is owned by the same people and they were on hand should they be needed. Cottage is well situated for getting out and about exploring Shropshire and North Wales. Both bedrooms have en-suite wet rooms. Showers were great but we all felt that the shower screens in both rooms were inadequate as they didn't contain the water within the shower area resulting in wet floors hence the reason for downgrading the comfort/ equipment category. Perhaps replacing the screens with longer, floor length ones would solve the problem."
