"The owners met us as we arrived and set the tone for our visit in the best possible way. They were so friendly and helpful. They showed us the cottage, explained how things worked, suggested possible places to eat and to visit. They told us to contact them with any further queries we might have. They checked in with us after a couple of days to make sure everything was OK. And on one particularly rainy day Sharon brought us a selection of their own DVD's as it was just too awful to go out.I cannot praise this holiday venue enough. Every room had been carefully planned and equipped. There were lots of touches reflecting the Scottish theme in fabrics and pictures. There was a welcome basket for us and milk in the fridge. Extra things like cooking oil, spices etc were in the kitchen. Plus eggs from our host's own free-range chickens which were delicious. We could collect more eggs as we needed to. The water supply was from a spring and so nice both for drinking and washing in. The bedrooms were so pretty, had great views out over the grass, trees and mountains. The beds were very comfortable. All the 3 bedrooms had been made up so we had a choice of which to use. My daughter and I picked the 2 upstairs bedrooms. There were plenty of towels available. The beds each had a note on the towel bundle to leave unused beds and towels as they were, so they could minimise unnecessary laundry and be "green". The central heating was by biomass, which we were a little ignorant about but it was a very efficient system with little environmental impact. There was a wood-burner available in the sitting room but even though our week in Scotland was cold and very wet we did not need to use it as the central heating was great. The sitting room was large, welcoming and comfortable. There were extra rugs to wrap up in, comfy armchairs and a lovely large couch. There were lots of board games, books and DVDs provided, and Sky TV. Outside the window was a well-stocked bird-feeding station which was a joy to watch, with plenty of visiting siskins, coal tits, blue tits, great tits, sparrows and more. There were plenty of pheasants and their chicks about too. This cottage was quite isolated and well away from normal busy city life. It was so relaxing and tranquil. Everything was so lovely and we would love to stay here again."

"What a fantastic cottage and amazing hosts. After years of going to Holiday Parks we decided to rent a cottage this year after an awful experience last year at a Holiday Park. This was so worth the extra cost. There was an unexpected welcome pack on the table which was lovely, Tony and Sharon are wonderful and do all they can to help. Our children loved meeting all the animals and watching the wildlife in the garden, we saw deer, buzzards and rabbits amongst other wildlife. It was lovely seeing the chickens run freely (true free range) we collected eggs most mornings for our breakfast. It was amazing re-connecting with the family and getting to know our 16 year old son again! He is always on his PS4 but due to no internet or phone signal he spent time with us and his twin sisters, it was lovely seeing them all getting on and playing games which were all supplied at the cottage, along with DVD's which were a godsend as the weather during our stay was not very good, so some days were spent at the cottage in the living room with the log fire providing a cosy setting. We did manage to climb up Ben Rinnes 2 days which was wonderful, the views were amazing and a great sense of achievement making it to the top, although the first day we went up, there was cloud coverage at the top. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could think of. Thank you so much Tony and Sharon."

"We had a great week and weather was perfect. Good base for visiting the area. In our opinion we felt that the photos do not depict how close you are to the caravan site next door and misleading regarding the outdoor area. There is also construction taking place between the cottage and the beach with a garage or other business being built in the yard, clients should be given this information. The cottage interior is nice and has a comfy bed. If planning bringing supplies there is not an empty cupboard for storage! But there are 3 under counter cupboards locked signed private. Only one bath and one hand towel for the week was a little mean. My biggest concern was the mould in the corner of the double bedroom, hopefully this will be investigated and dealt with. I didn't want it disturbed and airborne whilst in the property so it was not reported during our stay. Disapointed however the cleaners or owners change over inspection had not seen it and dealt with the problem."

"This was a lovely cosy lodge in a fantastic location. However on arrival the lodge was freezing cold. The heating is by way of storage heaters and these need to store the previous night to provide heat the next day. As the caretaker knew the date and time of our arrival we would have hoped they would have been switched on.The cleanliness of the property was not good. The windows were filthy and so looking at the view was marred. The bathrooms were not clean, especially the showers. The oven was dirty. The dining room table/table mats were encrusted with crumbs! Superficially the place looked clean and tidy but in fact it was not. The carpet was stained and we did not go around barefoot because of this. The bin in the kitchen looked as if it had never been cleaned. We were so disappointed with the cleanliness standard because overall the lodge was perfect for what we wanted."

"Taking into consideration the weather I.e. Extremely cold, the main living area was less well heated due to being open to the kitchen which was cold. This, even with the stove working. Having rented other similar properties in Buckie in similarly cold weather conditions, they were more snug. I might visit this property in the summer but would avoid in cold weather. The little snug room does not have comfortable furniture. However the rest of the cottage is pleasant and well presented. The high step from the kitchen to the living room should be made known for people who might be affected by this. The cottage is beautifully clean and well equipped. There is a need for a blind or similar to the bathroom. We enjoyed a restful stay."
