"It states that Fingals is back from the road. What it doesn't say is that the property is behind the houses on the road. The path to the property is quite difficult to manoeuvre as it is a bit twisty, two more properties are being built off that driveway and one of the other neighbours has a boat parked in the road. It is fortunate that I have front and rear sensors, as it was difficult to back the car out of the cottages driveway before we even got onto the communal path. The gates to the drive were not very well fixed and we felt that it was not entirely safe for the dogs. The property is not suitable for a disabled person who requires help showering. There are no aids in the bathroom and the shower room would be better set up as a wet-room as the shower cubicle had a step up to it and it was very cramped. Only slightly disabled people would be able to use it, and even I found it difficult and a bit scary at times. The Hotel was in the process of being sold when we were there, so there was no WiFi, nor a place to drink or eat within a few yards as stated in the details. I would not visit this cottage again, and if you have a big car as I do in order to carry a wheelchair, you will have problems with the driveway and may even have to park in the road which is not visible from the cottage."

"Picked because it would take dogs. This is not luxury accommodation and has many small cosmetic shortcomings and some of the light fittings and the shower are a bit low for me at 6'3". However it is spacious has just about everything you could need for eating cooking, washing, drying etc. is warm, has plenty of hot water and has two bathrooms (handy even when there are only 2 getting ready) and lots of space for clothes and luggage + plenty of towels and bedding. It is close to the main road but in a quiet situation. Getting two cars on the drive would be a bit tight. Big supermarket a few miles away in Leven to stock up. The fridge is large but we did not use the separate freezer(which was unplugged) or the washing machine tumble dryer or dishwasher when we stayed (only 4 days).Yes I/we would stay again as there was nothing I would regard as a major fault, it accepted dogs and was close to where I wanted to be."

"This was our second visit and as before the cottage was very clean and in the main comfortable with one exception. Last year there was a king size bed and this year it had been changed to a double. That in itself would not have been a problem however, the mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable which made for a very poor nights sleep and the single bed mattress was just as bad. There is also still no wi-fi which is usually fairly standard these days and would have been helpful. Apart from that, the beach and surrounding walks with the dog were lovely as were the places of interest and villages nearby and around Fife. It is a good location and not too far from Edinburgh, Glasgow and just 20 minutes from St. Andrews. The Crusoe hotel a few mintues walk away serves a lovely meal as does the Upper Largo hotel where we had a beautiful anniversray meal. All in we had a very enjoyable holiday, thank you."

"We stayed for 7 nights with our small dog. The owners who live next door were welcoming and friendly. Accommodation is a modern well presented-cottage. It is located on a busy main road a short walk from the beach and local town center of Leven. The living room and bedroom were very comfortable. The bathroom sink is small compared to the size of the tap and this made washing and shaving difficult. The shower enclosure door is not adequate and this allowed water to spray onto the floor. The hot water was intermittent both in the bathroom and the kitchen. The town centre and general area seems to feel rather run down and the beach whilst close lacked charm and character compared to other nearly locations. The cottage does not have a garden facility which does not make the property particularly pet friendly at all, especially as the front door opens directly onto a main road."

"We enjoy staying at Fingals but there are things that need to be addressed. Firstly and most important is the shower. It is very old and cramped plus the water leaks out somewhere causing pools on the floor which constantly need drying. Secondly is the lack of WiFi. A few guests have commented on this in the past but it seems to fall on deaf ears. Thirdly is an apparant lack of attention to detail to ensure the cottage is checked properly before guests move in. For example there was no light bulb in the lamp beside the fireplace. We looked for a replacement but there was none. We ended up swapping the bulb from another lamp. Also we just about had enough toilet rolls to last the week as there were no spare ones. Hope this helps."
