"April Cottage is a lovely place in a small village location, it’s very relaxing and the property it’s self is charming to say the least. There is a river walk just around the back of the cottage. It is a 20 - 25 minute drive into Salisbury. The property is very clean, in fact everything was so new the fridge/freezer had not been used before. It may be a little small for a group of four people, however there was just me, my partner and the dog, so it wasn’t too bad. The TV is tiny but then again you don’t go to a place like this just to watch tv, you can do that in a holiday inn. We couldn’t get the shower to work but hey maybe that was me being a girl. This is a great place that I would recommend to anyone. Bad points: Most places have basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper this place doesn’t (nothing major just might help those who have been on a long journey, take tea bags with you). There are no shops in this village, the nearest one is 5 - 10 minutes drive away. Overall I like this place and I would stay here again and my partner says that’s high praise from me. March 2012."

"Despite being well presented and a good location, why did we leave halfway through the week? 1) Dispute over access time. Our documents said 3pm but we were told that it would not allowed access until 4pm.2) Designated parking is under a tree inhabited by most of the world’s magpies. Our car literally needed to be washed daily before we could go out. The owner said that this is why she had left cleaning materials to wash the car. So we moved it in front of the property following the action our neighbour. This led to the complaint that our car would block access to emergency vehicles although this was apparently not so for the neighbour’s car. 3) The neighbour appeared to believe that her duty was to monitor our activities and would stand outside even very late evening and watch us, making us very uncomfortable. This was supposed to be a holiday but we became so stressed that this 80 year old veteran and his wife packed their car on the Tuesday evening and returned home preferring to write off 50% of their costs."

" I had to wash everything first in the kitchen, everything was covered in grease.. All cupboards were full so I had no where to put my food stuff when I arrived except under the sink which is not the most hygienic of places. Less clutter would soon sort this.Supplied logs but don't tell you they would need drying out before you could burn them, stored outside in all weathers. More large drinking glasses needed, and the table could be smaller and a smaller settee in lounge would create more space.I dropped something on the floor in the lounge and it went under settee, when I moved it the dirt underneath was disgusting. "We have had the most wonderfully peaceful and restful few days in this idyllic spot. Just what we needed! Stable Cottage is delightful with lovely colours and decoration and all our needs catered for. Thank you Peter for looking after us so well and making us so welcome. We enjoyed a meal in the Deli in Pewsey on our first evening and next day lunch in the National Trust café at Avebury - a very interesting place to visit. We also very much enjoyed Marlborough and an excellent meal at The Silks on the Downs. So sorry we have to leave so soon, but we hope to be back. JDF, Surrey"

"Abbotts Ball Farm is a comfortable cottage with a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need. The house is warm and pleasant, with loads of towels and bedding provided for the two comfortable double beds. Behind the cottage is a hill from which there are lovely views all around. Devizes is an interesting Georgian market town with good shops and places to eat or have coffee. The cottage isn't far from the Caen Hill Locks, which are quite spectacular and well worth a visit. A minor shame was that the local pub, the George and Dragon, was closed on Friday evening."
