What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Matterdale To Rent.

"We thought the apartment was spacious and furniture comfortable, the down side it was extremely noisey, dustbin wagons emptying bottle bins every morning very early on, also beer garden to the side of the property, and really inconsiderate people from the bar 18/20 smoking and letting children run and scream under the apartment in the evening, we even had some men a couple of evenings sat on the spiral staircase smoking and making a racket. We would not recomend staying with children as you would not get them to sleep. So for this reason we would definately not stay here again. Also access to the property not easy on a summers day as the lake inn at the top of the access road had spread chairs too far over so we were made to feel we were in the wrong asking people to move, In the end we parked elsewhere."

"We throughly enjoyed our stay here, the cottage is beautiful very very clean and spacious the settees are very comfortable. The beds not so the double bed i did feel like i was falling out and ached when i got up in the morning. saying that it didn't and hasn't put us off from returning would really like it more if they had new mattresses. The people who own it and are attached to the cottage are very very nice, there was a beautiful lemon homemade cake plus fudge and a vase of flowers, which was a lovely and pleasant surprise. Our dogs enjoyed the paddock opposite and had a great run about. When we left i unfortunately left behind a number of items and the Lady met my husband in a service station that same night to hand over my belongings..I was really impressed with that and i cant thank them enough"

"Loved Redwoods, very cosy and comfortable with great amenities. We were unlucky with the weather, so missed out on the opportunity of sitting out on the balcony to enjoy a ‘sundowner’ whilst overlooking the tarn, nevertheless it is still a lovely spot to sit and chill. Ambleside provides a good base for easy access to surrounding areas, and for those opting to ‘self cater ‘ there is a good variety of shops from which to purchase your food and drink. Would definitely recommend The Talbot pub, gorgeous food and if you’ve eaten too much the walk back up the hill will soon burn off those extra calories! Also had a lovely meal at Sticklebarn, very welcoming and a good place to stop at, after a great day out. Already discussing when to do a return visit."

"We had an excellent holiday at Grey Walls. The cottage was very spacious, yet warm, cosy, comfortable and welcoming, even in the most appalling weather at the start of the week. We were a group of four adult couples and one dog, and found the living room and dining room perfect for spending time together, but there was always space for people to have a bit of time out from the group when they wanted it. The location was truly superb. Everyone (including the dog) loved the ever-changing views from the house, and there is plenty of fell-walking straight from the door - we barely used the cars. Red deer rutting season had started, and we could see and hear the stags up on the fell, and a red squirrel visited the garden. Something for everyone."

"We had perfect weather so spent most time outside, the number of dog rules was a real irritant, not really dog friendly in my opinion, the cleanliness issue was really the. Patio and grubby decor in places, also really needs a bigger outside table to be honest. Freezer downstairs and no gf loo a bit of an issueNegatives out the way it was a fab house in a brilliant location and the folk in the shop were first class, the view was as good as any and thanks for the weather. The steep drive was actually quite fun to race up back from the pub, pub is a good Lakeland one friendly with great beer and expected quality pub grub.Yeah would go back, we rarely do so similar type for a s, real value for money this one in fact a steal"
