"We were fairly disappointed with our holiday here. There were several points we found were not pleasant about our stay, these being: •Not much privacy, and cameras right above hot tub, not to mention a window looking down and a gate from propert next door joined onto our garden.•When we arrived there was dirty cleaning cloths left all on the table •When we arrived the toilet seat was broken and on the floor!!•The ‘spa bath’ was not working at all, which wasn’t mentioned. •There was a Range Rover parked smack bang in front of our kitchen window, people out there having discussions in front of the window regularly and we felt we had no privacy. There was also other cars in the driveway preventing us getting in and out without having to drive into the grass•The man who came to maintain the hot tub came up, didn’t explain what he was doing or say hello, threw his tools around and then left, we didnt like this. •Mould and damp on the front room walls, cleverly covered by a wardrobe! Not that clever as it didn’t take us long to see it, we have photos taken if need to see. •No rubber matting outside the hot tub, the steps and floor was very slippery as there were wet leaves everywhere, I slipped twice luckily I wasn’t injured •On arrival, a dog wandered in and out, we had no who idea who’s it was, but wasn’t comfortable with this. All in all, it was a lovely cottage and we had some good points to make, we enjoyed the hot tub, the kitchen was lovely, comfy bed and very quiet just a shame it wasn’t private at all, and they didn’t seem to be mindful at all that people were paying to stay there for a holiday, and quite a lot of money too."

"Fabulous stay at the wonderful marl house farm. Both bedrooms were very nice and spacious as was the bathroom with its roll top bath and separate shower cubicle. The living area was spacious with a lovely log burner and stone fireplace and the spiral staircase adds a touch of the unusual to it. The large farmhouse kitchen has everything you could need and the small enclosed courtyard area has seating and a bbq. We also bought fresh eggs from next door and the welcome bottle of wine was much appreciated and a lovely touch. The scenery in the area is stunning and we found it easy to walk with our dogs to the nearest pub just over a quarter of a mile away as a local told us about going through the wood opposite which comes out a few yards away from the house so no need to walk down the main road that has no path. The only downside for us could have been the noisy traffic as the bedrooms back onto a busy main road but we just bought some earplugs and the noise was gone. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend it to anyone! Hope to come back again."

"Came here for an anniversary get away, it was the perfect hideaway! When we checked in a member of staff came to show us how to use the hot tub we asked a few questions about the surroundings she was helpful naming a few shops. But apart from that we wasn't bothered again. Only down points was having to get out the tub at 10pm and the woman that lives next door when she has visitors (which was everday) 2 cars plus hers and mine it makes it very difficult to get off the drive. There is a dirt track to get to the lodge so small cars beware. Shops were a short walk away and a small pub at the end of the hill offered nice food at a reasonable price. The cottage itself is perfect and the bed is so comfortable and I ended up falling to sleep on the sofa everyday (which I never usually do) If you are looking for a romantic peaceful getaway I could not recommend the old cottage more and I have recommended to all my family and friends. Will defiantly look at returning."

"The first question I always ask before writing any reviews is would I go back/use this resource again etc. The answer here is definitely yes. It is a lovely little cottage for a short break in a peaceful location where the only thing likely to wake you is the clip clop of horses being put out to graze. The facilities are excellent and even in cold wet weather, the cottage stays warm and cosy. The added (free) extras of eggs, milk, tea and biscuits is a very welcoming bonus. My only qualification would be that a bit more explanation on the access - unload your car at the top door but access the cottage at the bottom door would have avoided some confusion for us. A little sketch map of the farm layout with parking, access and keybox marked would be a useful addition to the otherwise excellent instructions."

"This is a superb holiday cottage and we've been several times. Excellent level of fitout internally and a great location, offering fantastic value for money. All the little touches that make the difference are thought about and whilst you're left to your own devices, the owners are always available whenever needed. The kids love playing with the friendly dogs as well as feeding the goats giving a wholesome, outdoor experience. The only minor negative is the busyish road running immediately adjacent to the property, which may be a problem for light sleepers, but a minor inconvenience at an otherwise 10/10 cottage. Will definitely come back...again!"
