"The double mattress in our room was so old and full of lumps and bumps that we had to resort to the single mattresses, but no bedding provided for these!Garden furniture was advertised but to our dismay all there was were 2 picnic benches....so couldn't relax to sunbathe or read in comfort...had to go out and buy chairs! On a bad wet stormy night we had bought a dvd to watch but dvd did not work, rang owner who said hadn't got a clue, put a man on phone who offered to come the following morning,we declined,as the moment was lost by then! The first thing I noticed on entering the dining area was the leg on dining table was loose and sticking out at an angle,I photographed this as proof,a danger hazard if children are involved.Dishwasher efficient as was washing machine, and general homeliness and cleanliness was good, and most of the kitchen equipment was useful, apart from back left gas burner on hob which refused to ignite. The freezer was badly in need of defrosting, top compartment door broken off,and fridge temperature was far too cold even when we set to zero....but then discovered that freezer was set to fast freeze which proved to be a contributory factor as we adjusted it and normal temperature was reached. And by reason of the above comments this is why we would not return to that venue.I would suggest that the owner herself spend a night or two there and make some necessary adjustments."

"We enjoyed our stay at Dovekie, it is very modern and has all modern appliances, everything you could need. Even a hairdryer. The location was excellent, we traveled down to Looe by train from Suffolk and everything was within 5-10 mins walking distance. The beach was less than a minutes walk turning left out of the property and the little town was the same turning right out of the property. There are two flights of stairs at Dovekie, it is a lovely quaint fisherman’s cottage. Looe is a pretty little fishing town spread over two halves, East and West. The town itself is flat but surrounding areas are hilly but do come with gorgeous views. We walked to Millendreath Beach and part way to polperro, again hilly but worth it. Sarah’s pasty shop is at the end of the lane which Dovekie is situated and we both agree they are the best pasties, well worth a visit or two. Also Sarah’s cake shop just round the corner, lovely Viennese whirls. For a place to drink we recommend The Plough by the quay, over 30 Gins to try. The barmaids knew all about the local gins and how to serve them, very friendly place. We did an online shop with Tesco’s and had it delivered the evening we arrived. Lots to see and do in Looe, lovely accommodation what more could you ask for. We would return! "

"The lodge is spacious and well equiped and well located near Polperro (1m) and Looe (3m). The walk to Polperro is VERY steep and should only be attempted by the able bodied. Ample car parking is available at Looe (£5.50 all day or £3.50 for 3hrs). Bus services are few but taxi fares are fine if shared by 4 people. We stayed 3rd - 10th April 2015, Easter Week, and the park was not crowded at all. The swimming pool is good and clean but needs a makeover. Childrens playground is good enough to keep the kids happy for an hour. Evening entertainment on site is extremely basic and consists of (bad) magicians and musical statues, followed by Bingo (!). Food is of good standard (fish & chips £6, pastie & chips £4, kids box of 2 sausages & chips £3). If, for me, I had one gripe about Yer Tiz (other than the premium you pay for Easter Week - £200 extra -, is the inconsistent supply of hot water for the bath and overhead shower in the main bathroom (another shower is OK en suite to the main bedroom). No matter how you try, you can't get a bath in anything more than tepid water - if this is important to you, Yer Tiz is not for you. Altogether, the 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids under 5) had a great time and would go back again. Hope this helps you choose."

"This very 'dog friendly' lodge is lovely and clean, beds were made up with additional clean linen and towels in the cupboards Vikki had also laid on a 'welcome basket' with all the essentials, she had even laid on a 'welcome' tub of treats for the dog. Ample parking for 2 cars outside the front of the lodge. The park is situated in a lovely quiet part of the park, across a small road from the main manor with wonderful walks off site for the dogs, the site itself does have a dog walking area but this is the size of a postage stamp and only suitable if your dog is the size of a rabbit !!! Polperro is a mile down the road accessible by car although parking is expensive (£4 for a minimum of 3 hrs) if you were to walk to this lovely quaint fishing port, a walkway is accessed through the park (it is a very steep descent), Taland bay is a gorgeous cove where you can again, walk from the site or drive, this beach is dog friendly! Entertainment on site is very limited and is aimed for the younger children so the teenagers miss out. The staff were all very friendly and eager to help."

"Linhay cottage is on Bodigga Cliff, it's a 1-min walk from the cottage door to stunning scenery on the SW Coastal Path, and a 15-min walk down the Path to Millendreath beach. Dogs aren't allowed on Milendreath beach from 10am to 6pm in the summer, but our dog loved having the run of the huge garden, and scampering along the Coastal Path east to Looe and west to Seaton. From here we day-tripped to Looe, Polperro, and even Newquay and St Ives. The evening sunsets over the fields were beautiful. We ate and drank al fresco to enjoy the splendour. It was so quiet, calm, and gorgeous. We loved every minute. The wifi is great too. I would absolutely recommend this place to families with children, and anyone who likes to see the stars at night! We will be back."
