"We had a lovely week. The location was great, the parking for a medium sized car was tight, but useful. With other free parking close by. Comfy bedrooms, thoughtful games and leaflets. Great contact with the owners, all was good enough for us to be happy to return. But there are 2 small negatives I feel important to mention: I know the steepness of the stairs is mentioned in the listing, but even though I took care, I did nearly fall down them twice during the week. They are worst for coming down, as slope downwards; inwards on some steps, and are narrow. So those making bookings should take care. Also, what looks like a proper oven in the photographs is actually a microwave oven, which I believe is a bit misleading. We only had 2 rings, would not have wanted to fry everything anyway due to wanting a healthier alternative to pub meals and takeaways - as well as cheaper. But using it, even though technically you can grill and "oven cook" things takes MUCH longer, is not possible to have anything brown or crispy. Difficult when you'd arranged for a Tesco shopping delivery on arrival day! But we made it work as best we could."

"This is a unique property in a lovely place. The downstairs living room and kitchen is a good size, comfy and the kitchen well equipped. The log burning fire was nice. The bedroom is also large, lots of wardrobe room and drawers. It's a great view from every window, very peaceful in the middle of the estate. There's some wear and tear around so you have to book not expecting it to be pristine (marks on walls, freezer shelves collapsing etc) but it's very homely at the same time and everything works and it's well thought out with the little touches like hooks where you want them etc. The two main things it lacks are wifi and a shower - there's a huge bath and handheld shower only. But that only matters if you need them, we felt the log burner was a good compensation. We had a very enjoyable stay, it is remote with the nearest local shop in Belsay a 15 minute around drive away and 30 minutes each way to bigger shops but the remoteness is the charm really and Belsay Castle and Wallington are not far away amongst other things."

"Beautiful larger than anticipated cottage fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The home was spotlessly clean and all decor and furnishings are quality. This is the 3rd cottage we have stayed in Northumberland and this was by far the best. Met the owner Angela who kindly left us home baked flapjack and milk. She also advised what activities were on offer during our stay in the local area. Although the weather wasn't kind to us during our holiday, we made the most of exploring the coastline. We enjoyed the walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle (stopping in the Jolly Fisherman for a well deserved glass of something cold afterwards). Amble itself is a lovely fishing village and habour, which seems to offer more each time we visit. Would recommend Radcliffes Cafe Bar for delicious German themed food, The Sand Bar for the most amazing breakfast and Cock and Bull Micro Bar for local real ales and gins. We will hopefully be back!"

"We loved this home so much that we don’t want to share it so the availability doesn’t disappear too quickly ??Seriously though a fab location, view stunning. The owners have put so much thought and effort into the accommodation to make it feel like a beautiful relaxing holiday home ,which they have definitely achieved. More so with this being their very first season of rentals. The home is fresh, clean, well maintained and little personal welcoming touches which go that extra mile for a guest. No pets at this home accepted which is a huge bonus for our family.Well equipped home & immaculately clean.Bedding & towels provided of the best quality & condition ... new!!! We didn’t want to leave after our 7 night stay & would have happily stayed longer if poss.So if you’re looking for a friendly, relaxing home with a gorgeous view (see sunrise photo),HOMELEA is your first choice. Great for families.Looking forward to returning ASAP."

"This cottage was booked for a family holiday for four adults. We have stayed at many holiday cottages up and down the country and I have to say this was one of the most comfortable cottages we have encountered. Number 8 has large spacious rooms, is beautifully decorated throughout and is extremely well equipped. It is situated in the perfect spot to make the most of all that Northumbria has to offer. In fact we visited Cragside House, Warkworth Castle, Alnwick Castle, Alnmouth, Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and Beamish museum all of which were between five minutes and an hour (at most) away. We can highly recommend the Wellwood Arms and Queen's Plaice fish and chip shop in Amble, which are both five minutes walk away. The Masons Arms in Warkworth is also worth a visit. We will definitely be back!!"
