What our customers are saying about our Christmas Cottages In Leyburn To Rent.

"The Buttery is a small and Bijou accommodation; for all that it is comfortable, clean and well appointed. The kitchen area was small but had all we needed to cook whatever meals we required. The bathroom was very well appointed, both for those who like to shower and for those who like bath. The main room was warm in inclement weather, and you can expand outside in the fine weather, to have a BBQ or just sip a glass or two or three, be it white, red, pink, or amber, whilst taking in the sounds of nature. The area was very good for walking and we enjoyed plenty of those. Of these the walk around Semer Water invigorating and ideal for removing the stiffness of a long drive to Countersett. Another was the walk to Bainbridge, see if you can find the old tank used for communal Wenslydale cheese making in the lane towards Bainbridge. Which brings me to the fact that the visitor must take a trip into Hawes and try the cheese there. Personally I loved the blue. On the downside we did find it very light in the morning with the early sun, and being late May early June that was early indeed. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay here and will probably go back in the future."

"The owners have thought of everything to make a stay in this cottage a brilliant experience. The facilities are superb and apart from taking your own towels, there is nothing else needed as everything, and more, is provided. It is a lovely touch to leave a note and welcome pack on kitchen table, which makes you feel that the owners appreciate your custom, too. Cottage is spotlessly clean, decorated and furnished very tastefully and the views from each window are fabulous. If you want a break away from the world, in a setting that is quite magical, then this is the place to go. Already arranging to return next year!"

"Prior to confirming our booking, I phoned you and questioned this, but you were immovable, and I now know this is in the ‘small print’ However, we only received cleaning services for one week, and having checked with the cottage owners, we know that they were not aware that you charged two booking fees for one holiday. As we paid nearly two thousand pounds for the holiday, we feel strongly that , at least as a gesture of goodwill, you should have waived the second booking fee. We have used Sykes on numerous occasions as we take a cottage holiday at least once a year, but are now considering using other companies"

"This is a beautiful old house, which has been lovingly retored, decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The village is picturesque and we spent a really happy evening at the village pub playing in the Christmas Darts challenge (we gave some of the locals a run for their money but ultimately we were soundly beaten!). Our only reservation for a winter let is the access- it really is across a field: the track barely justifies the word, and in snow it would be a problem. It would also be impossible to get food - let alone people - to the house without the use of a tractor in the snow!"

"The location of Cowstonegill is perfect for a relaxing stay and the outlook is stunning. I don't think I have been to anywhere quite so tranquil, and that includes many other parts of The Dales. We enjoyed watching 'the girls' [cows] from the farm across the fell go up for milking on a morning and then again later in the afternoon. Beautiful walking wherever you go in the area. Cowstonegill is a very impressive and well tended property and we were thrilled to have found it - much thought has been given by the owner in furnishing and equipping the house. Perfect in every way"
