"Only a short break, but we really enjoyed our stay at Rosemount Cottage. It's tucked away up a short path or track, just off the road, which means it's nice and quiet, with distant traffic only heard come the morning rush hour. Others have commented that they had trouble parking nearby but we arrived in two cars and always found a space or two available.Clean and freshly decorated throughout, with a modern shared bathroom (shower), and a living/dining room with more chairs than the cottage sleeps guests, so plenty of options.A couple of minutes walk to the Leeds-Liverpool canal, with easy walks either north through Barnoldwsick (the Lock Stop cafe just beyond is worth the walk), or south to Foulridge where the canal disappears into a tunnel. The Anchor Inn in Salterforth is the local pub, serving mainly locals in the evening and canal travellers by day. Food at the Anchor in only served until 7:30 so unless you eat early you'll have to look elsewhere, but there are some good takeaways and cafes in Barnoldwsick."

"The cottage was ideal for our needs in location and an enclosed garden etc. for our dog. Our dog is 13 now and was not interested in leaping over the wall to the road but younger dogs may well think about it. The garden was large and the cottage had everything you could think of as regards kitchen utensils and crockery and plenty of each.A real bonus for me was the downstairs bedroom with en-suite, as I had recently broken my knee and ruptured the tendon and having no stairs was a great help. The laminate flooring everywhere was a little difficult for our elderly dog but we managed with rugs and rubber matting from the car to help him. He had a great holiday !Garstang is a great little town with a large supermarket and chemist and surgery and also many smaller shops and a market. Trips to Morecambe, Preston and Chorley were successful for tracing family tree connections and birth places.Thank you."

"Having visited the Lake District for over 14 years now, staying somewhere different every year, this was one of the best. The lodge was superbly fitted out & the park itself was very well kept. Having a wee dog is the main reason for our Lakes holidays & this was no different, great walks nearby and on the park itself. Not any on site entertainment other than the pub, which is fine unless you have young kids looking for something to do. Morecambe only a 30 min drive away & good access for supermarkets / shops etc... Food served on site was good, gym / pool facilities looked good but I didn't use them. Would definitely return ( next year ! ) Great value for money too. Another bonus was the site was literally ten minutes off the M6. Only downside was the cost / reliability of the onsite WiFi, make sure you have a healthy data allowance !10 /10"

"This is a really lovely cottage - very convenient for NW area but beautiful in its own right. we loved just walking out the door and out into the hills. It is on a farm and so lovely being surrounded by all the sheep and lambs in spring. It was a real blessing to stay here for the Easter weekend. The hosts were great - left us to it, but were hospitable and very friendly. Thank you.I would have given this an overall 10. However, it was not evident on booking that there were 2 03 other holiday properties on the farm, and our stay was spoilt somewhat by a largish group who were drinking and chain smoking and making a lot of noise, with no sensitivity to others staying. this was not the owners' fault, and indeed they came to apologise, but it did mar our stay a little."

"We had a very enjoyable week at Lytham St Anne's.Property in a great location, 6-7 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes from Sainsburys supermarket & Railway station.Lovely park just around the corner, St Anne's Square again about 7-8 minutes walk, with lots of coffee shops and a few pubs.Reg our Sprocker Spaniel loved all the attention he received in the pubs and cafes who are very dog friendly.Blackpool, not so dog friendly, but we were allowed to take him on the trams.Property very comfortable and clean, parking on road outside the house.Would have liked a bigger garden for Reg, but we coped with the small area at the rear.Modern comfortable Bedrooms and bathroom. If we were to return to Lytham St Anne's, would definitely re book The Beach House."
