"This was my fourth visit to Keswick and whilst I've previously stayed in a Bed and Breakfast or rented a cottage I will not be doing that again, I was very much impressed by this apartment. The rooms were bigger than they appear in the pictures and are tastefully decorated. If you are taking children they provide a Playstation 2 with plenty of games as well as a DVD player with a good choice of films. There's plenty of cooking utensils and a large fridge freezer for those staying for several days. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of wardrobe space. Some other reviews have mentioned the awkwardness of eating in the kitchen which I would agree with as the eating space is quite small, there was only three of us and we managed. I'm not sure how four people could comfortably eat there though. Something to consider if you do not plan to eat out as we did most nights. The only other negative is the entry and stairwell which, again, is mentioned in other reviews. I must confess I entered through the doorway which is located at the back of a vestibule sandwiched between a shop and tattoo parlour and thought I'd accidentally entered a private part of the store and hesitated to go up. It is rough looking and makes you wonder what shape the apartment is going to be in but after going up one flight of stairs there is only this apartment and another one at the top of the stairs and once you get inside it's very different so please don't be put be off. One quick tip, the doorway is locked by the shop at 22:00 and the lock can be quite stiff and difficult to lock back up but persevere and it's fine. When the shop downstairs opens up of a morning the alarm system for the shop sounds quite loudly which on the first morning made me think our fire alarm was going off so gives you a bit of a scare but it's literally for seconds. We were there for an event in Keswick so didn't do any walking but for exploring Keswick itself and the restaurants and bars it's location is it's biggest plus. Thirty seconds walk from the front door and you're on the high street in Keswick, could not be better placed. In addition booking the apartment means you have an assigned car parking space in a car park behind the building, again, this is another big plus as places to park are like gold dust in Keswick. We were there from a Thursday to a Monday and didn't have any problems with noise off the street during the night or early mornings. For those that choose to stay I'd recommend Woodstone Pizza and Flamegrill which is directly opposite as well as The George pub both which is just a few doors down from the apartment. I will definitely stay here again."

"Booked this break last minute for three nights, the lodges have been refurbished to the highest quality, very clean, welcoming and child friendly. Park was very quiet , we have visited in a very busy peak season but this was lovely. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Everything you need is in the lodge even dishwasher tablets. will definitely be returning. The park was fine. Views were great of Ullswater as the park is right on the lake). It is a fairly short walk to Pooley Bridge and the steamer so you don't have to drive and pay for parking. We chose the cheapest cabin and it wasn't at all luxurious, but it had what we needed - 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen which had lots of utensils, TV, electric radiators in the bedrooms. There was no safe place around the cabin where the children could play (two boys, 3.5 and 1.5) as one way led to the road and the other way led to someone elses cabin (we found our youngest in the other peoples cabin on the day we arrived). It was a bit dark inside and on the days where it rained it wasn't really that nice to stay in and relax so we went out to find inside activities. But overall it was fine - probably better suited for adults or people with older children. There are other much nicer cabin types in the Park which would probably be better to stay in if you pay a bit more...found site by the directions given with ease, when arived got warm and helpful responce from staff, the site was clean and although full with campers and children everyone seemed to enjoy, great views and easy acess to lakes by car.The cabin was clean and pleasent for stay shop and food all on site also eating places around area. The only thing is its very hilly on site so if you are not to clever on your feet would not recommend this site.but on the other hand if you love walking and scenery you will be at home."

"We stayed here for May half term as a big family. We collected the keys from the park reception about 5 minutes away from the house (which is an amazing bonus to have access to all the fun facilities there... thoroughly recommend the tennis court!!) The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had Tesco deliver a food shop which went to reception at the park who helpfully directed the driver to the property. The property itself is pretty huge, there were two adults and five children ranging from 15 years to 10 years in our party and all had lots of space to play or hang out. Outside in the outhouse is an air hockey table and a table tennis table, the garden was big enough to play football in (and the neighbours were very understanding and kind when the ball kept going over) The property has a washing machine, dishwasher, cooker and microwave which made flying in and out after days out really easy (and we actually have no post holiday washing thanks to beautiful weather and a washing line!) One thing the children struggled with was the lack of wifi. The property is adverstised as having that and with three teenagers at points going cold turkey was very fun to watch :) however after the initial shock and local hotspots there was far too many other fun things to do in the area. We can thoroughly recommend Ullswater steamers (10 minute walk from the property) also the circular walk in Pooley bridge is beautiful and serves as a taster to walking in the lake district with some hills and amazing views. We also recommend Aira force (15 minute winding drive) a beautiful water fall walk. Take a towel and have a paddle! We would definitely return to this place, the photos of the house give a good idea but don't do it justice. You won't be disappointed!"

"Stayed at this cottage for 2 nights, 6 adults. Cottage was immaculate on arrival, kitchen had everything we needed, having sky was a plus point also. The wood burner in living area was lovely. Hot tub was basic but with a beautiful view. I would say there wasnt enough towela for each person for hot tub and showering, I would take extra towels with us if we stay again. We could also have done with more tea towels. We would recommend this cottage in future and would stay again.Just one little tiny thing - the can opener is worn out and needs replacing! Apart from that the cottage is wonderful, the location is beautiful and we cannot fault them! This is a lovely cottage in a fabulous location but would advise people to think twice if its a group of adults. This property only has one bathroom which is fantastic with a lovely bath and walk in shower (there is a toilet outside). We had 4 adults and one small child and at times a wait for the bathroom. The accommodation would benefit greatly from an en-suit in the main bedroom (plenty of room for one). Cleanliness could have been better, had to wash kitchen items before use, hearth and log burner dirty and big cobwebs in kitchen area. Excellent kitchen with washer, dryer, dishwasher also ironing board and iron but missed the basics like a mop (very slippery floors when in and out of hot tub) and a toilet brush. Also great that towels, robes and slippers provided and hair dryers are provided.what a fab place. its worth so much more than 5 stars. it has everything you could ever want. the only thing I would ask for them to maybe put a lamp in the front room. only home for 3 days when I had to book it again for next year."

"I stayed here with my husband and another couple for a short break. Upon arrival we were dissapointed, the entrance to the apartment was next to a shop, which made it difficult for us to enter with our bags as there was mountains of cardboard boxes and two bicycles blocking the doorway. The stair case leading to the apartment was filthy, dust and spider webs everywhere, with unsightly damp patches on the walls. At this point we were all complaining and then we went into the apartment itself. What a change! The apartment is lovely, spacious enough for two couples, had everything we needed if we choose to cater for ourselves, the beds were clean and comfy and the lounge roomy and airy. Each bedroom was bright and clean and had plenty of storage space for our clothes There was plenty of hot water for everyone to have showers and the bath was spotless. We tried to put a bulb in the lounge lamp and realised that it is in fact the lamp that is broken, this didn't really make a difference to our stay but the room would be better with a cosy lamp. As in a previous review, I was not impressed with being asked to strip the beds, I do that at home often enough and certainaly do not want to do it on my holidays. The best thing about the apartment is the location, yes there is a little noise sometimes from the shop below, but that is to be expected, however you are only a few steps away from the local pubs, cafes, market and shops. This review would have been better if only the entry way was cleaned and tidied. It gives the worst first impression possible."
