"What a gem of a find. The location of the cottage was lovely, very quiet and great views. Contact with the owners was easy and we found them very pleasant and helpful, especially in the directions given to find the cottage. A welcome pack was on the table when we arrived, along with a bottle of prosecco and preserve in the fridge. It was very clean and had all the amenities anyone could possibly need, including items of kitchen cutlery that you sometimes struggle to find in other places - a lot of thought had obviously gone into the furnishing and equipment supplied.Although you have to travel to local supermarkets, this was not a problem as we were out and about anyway. It was a pleasure to come back and relax in the evening, looking at the views and watching some of the wildlife. We were originally going to take our dog with us but at the last moment, he was looked after at home. However, had he come with us, the garden would have been great for him, not to mention nearby walks. We would certainly recommend this cottage and look forward to going back, hopefully some time next year."

"Location for our needs was excellent but interior of the property was very tried and dated it does require refurbishment. The view from the Balcony was blighted due to the fact there is a half finished Round House together with the associated noise. There is no outside lighting the torch provided was not functioning the site is under the flight path to Glasgow Airport a lot of Aircraft noise. The First Monday we were there the Electricity was cut off for the whole day due to planned works we were not notified of this! There is a lot of vegetation around the Pavillion which made the Bedrooms very dark and access to the clothes drying area impossible generally the Garden look neglected and overgrown."

"This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location, which is very suitable for us visiting nearby friends and family. We have visited for years and it could do with a good refresh now - it needs repainting, and a new mattress on the downstairs double bed, and a good tidy up outside. We always wash the full length lounge windows to be able to enjoy the view. We love this cottage and thoroughly recommend it for the location, flexible accommodation and peaceful setting. We love the wood burner for cosy nights in and it's great you can take your dog. A fall of snow this year made things perfect for the (grown up) kids."

"The lodge and the views were amazing. Seeing the cows, sheep and other wildlife everyday was lovely, but the road to get to it was terrible. Had sections of tarmac, but was mainly a dirt track with loads of bumps etc. Not good for the car or passengers with back or neck troubles. It also doesn't have the best signage to know where to go. Apart from that, as we said the lodge was amazing, it was peaceful and we felt safe there. The owners/staff were kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend, just need to sort out the road."

"We wanted to be able to visit Edinburgh and Glasgow without the hassle of car parking. Elm Cottage is about 20 minutes' walk from Falkirk High railway station, through a Country Park. We hardly used the car all week. We were also able to walk to the Falkirk Wheel through the park and along the canal side, and cycle along the canals to see the Kelpies at the Helix. The cottage was comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped."
