"This property should have had the wow factor. Unfortunately massively let us down with poor cleaning, poor maintenance and general disrepair.Candelabra lighting in the garden room only 2 out of 6 bulbs were working. Down lights around the garden room only 3 out of 10 bulbs were working. Finger marks on bi-fold doors. In between the large seating area in garden room were hair, fluff, food, crayons etc. Stained curtain. Cobwebs in every room. Mouldy microwave, dried food on pots in cupboard. Filthy skirting boards covered in dust. Nasty sealant in shower cubicle, also scummy dirty toiletry holder in shower cubicle. Thick dust on blinds in bathroom. Grotty taps in bathroom and cloakroom. THICK dust, hair, fluff and random ‘things’ under the bed in main bedroom. The bbq was unusable, rusty and had not been cleaned from previous use, covered in congealed fat and ash. There were cracks on walls in most rooms and just a general state of disrepair. The property COULD have been spectacular, but as it is now needs a major sort out to come anywhere near how it looks in the advertised pictures. Location good, handy Co-op just across the main road. Front bedroom does get traffic noise though."

"The cottage has a lovely location which is on a quiet country lane, right on the banks of the Montgomery Canal. The lady owner came to meet us on our arrival to ensure we knew where everything was and how it all worked. We visited many places of interest during our stay, including the Ironbridge Gorge, Welshpool, Llangollen and Chester. We would definitely recommend the Park & Ride to visit Chester, so well organised and only £4.00 to park your car for all day and it included the bus fare into the City and back for the two of us. We will most definitely planning a holiday back there for next year.Nicky gave us a warm welcome! The cottage was perfect, it was clean and well equipped, with attention to detail. We loved the fact it was so dog friendly. The canal path was so tranquil, perfect for dog walking. It was great to be within walking distance of local pubs and it was well positioned for exploring mid Wales. We would highly recommend this cottage."

"This is my 3rd time @ Libby’s Lodge. Fabulous location with plenty of Wildlife, Wonderful walks, close to local amenities, well equipped, spotlessly clean, excellent free WiFi and value for money and very comfortable. Helen the owner gave me a free upgrade to her bigger cottage ( Canalside) opposite Libby’s Lodge again all of the above applied to (Canalside). The hot tub was amazing, as was the conservatory too. Again excellent free WiFi upstairs and downstairs. Thank you Helen, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, again there was a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge on arrival. I cannot envisage staying anywhere else when visiting Chester, I’m so glad I stumbled across Libby’s Lodge. I will be returning again later this year and for many years to come."

"We were three friends who spent a long weekend in this lovely house. Communication with Nick and Helen was great and they answered quickly to text messages. The house was lovely and warm and clean. The living kitchen is great for a social gathering where you can cook and chat and watch TV . The three bedrooms were just right for us and there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom. The bedding was good quality and the beds comfortable. The house is situated on the main road so there is some traffic noise at the front. We walked into Shrewsbury during the day which took 30 mins but we took taxis in the evening which were £5 each way. I would definitely stay again in this house."

"A very comfortable cottage, well equipped and clean. A welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar and milk along with biscuits and eggs was appreciated. A pleasant seating area in the back garden too. Good location for exploring Shropshire, especially the town of Shrewsbury, several National Trust properties and the Ironbridge museums. Shrewsbury is a good shopping centre and there is a selection of shops and a supermarket by the Meole Brook park and ride. Minsterley itself has a good Coop beside the petrol station. The Nags Head in Pontesbury is excellent for food. A lovely cottage to return to after a day exploring. We would definitely return."
