"The Grain Store is excellently located for access to the Jurassic Coast. It is set in lovely gardens with a small, though attractive wood, both of which are perfect for the dog. The addition of a secure, fenced garden is also perfect for the dog.We were really delighted with the first impression on arrival, particularly how well stocked and clean everything was. It was great to be able to have a hot bath at the end of a day’s walking, with the choice of having a good shower as well in the morning. The wood fire in the lounge is a great feature and one of the reasons we chose to stay there. We were given a good supply of tinder and wood for our stay. Even though it was not too chilly in the evenings, it made the room warm and cosy. However, the condition of the double mattress in the master bedroom was appalling; we had to sleep in separate rooms as the springs came through so much in the double bed that I could only sleep reasonably comfortable in the middle, so Steve was forced to choose the best from the other beds, which also was not easy.We chose to stay at The Grain Store because of the location as well as the well-equipped games room, as advertised online, for evenings and rainy days. Sadly the pool table has been removed (damaged following inappropriate use by residents), the dart board could not be used (table tennis table in the way and no darts available, not supplied as it had previously been misused by residents), the table tennis table did not have sufficient space around it to be used (the room is now also used as a shop), and the football table is on its last legs. The information brochure is out of date with mis-information about local shops and amenities. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. We hope that our feedback will help them make some improvements, particularly with the mattresses (getting good quality replacements) as we would like to stay there again (with the caveat of comfortable beds)."

"I wanted to sleep in the top Bedroom but the toilet was not working ,we phoned the contact number that was left, the lady said she would look into it on Friday the Day we were leaving, it was very disappointing, as the note said just contact me if you need anything. I also couldn't close the curtains properly as there was a lot of noise coming from the pub across the road. we couldn't work the Television properly as we did not realize the box needed to be manually pressed on, we struggled with the remote and didn't realize the box wasn't on. After a 5 Hour journey we would have preferred a few tea Bags to a pkt of biscuits as we had to go shopping. Our Holiday was more about a rest than to see the sights and it was very noisy with the pub one side and the back of Waitrose on the other side with Deliveries and lorries being loaded during the Day."

"A good venue for large groups. We were 5 adults and 3 children. Plenty of space although with 8 people sitting round the table there was little room to move in the kitchen. We had small niggles with the washing machine and dishwasher and one of the toilets was difficult to flush. This was at the beginning of the holiday and nothing to do with our use of it. However the owners were very friendly and the children loved letting the chickens out and collecting the eggs. There was a superb games barn with a skittles alley which everyone loved and a nice child friendly garden. We were in easy reach of several beaches, some better than others for children and energetic walks! Not far to the nearest supermarket or pubs. All in all we had a very good holiday, young and old alike!"

"Found the cottage very comfortable and relaxing, the amenities in the village were very good and the enclosed garden very good for the dogs. The only personal point is that there did not seem to be any public transport from the village into Bridport, which I cannot remember whether that was pointed out in the information or if it is something I overlooked. The Toaster on the lefthand side did not work, not a problem for us but might be for a family of 4.Also when I came to use the hover it had not been emptied for a couple of weeks, would suggest the caretaker checks on that.I would suggest it to other people it is just I have been diagnosed with a condition that if anything were to happen would leave us without transport."

"Location was excellent right in the middle of Bridport town centre. The cottage had everything we needed with two modern bathrooms, good sized kitchen and living space. It backs onto Waitrose which has deliveries some mornings at 4am which is going to wake up anyone sleeping in the top bedroom with the window open (we had 20C day temps and 14-18C night - the top bedroom was very warm). It was not a problem once the window was closed and apparently the noise could not be heard from the front ground floor bedroom. The off road parking was very useful and no trouble with any surrounding vehicles. You have two ways to get into the space if there is anyone parked where they shouldn't.A very enjoyable break for all."
