"This is the best self catering accomodation we have stayed in to date. The extras throughout the barn were amazing. Thre double bedrooms all with ensuites, TVs in bedrooms and bathrooms! All modern fittings. Bathrooms very luxurious. Comfortable lounge with another TV! Huge dining table! Kitchen well supplied, ample cooking untensils and plenty of cutlery and crockery. Great views all round. Very secluded spot but only 10 minute walk to nearest pub with very nice food! Looking out of each window you feel very much isolated and so quiet compared to area we live. Bird song and occassional sheep bleating was all you could hear. Owners live next door with thier two dogs. Very friendly and playful dogs. From the barn there are views down to the Holligsworth Lake which has a footpath round it for great walks and cafes at various points. Not far from bigger towns if needed but local village had everything we needed. Would love to go back at some point in the future. Barn is very well equiped throughout. Welcome pack upon arrival was a lovely touch. Plenty of towels etc and laundry room. All in all a great place to stay. Thoroughly recommend."

"The cottage is amazing. I was so surprised at just how much was already in place for you. Very detailed instructions on using everything. The outside BBQ's and the Pizza Oven were so amazing, and it was so much fun to make your own pizzas. There were already condiments, milk, butter and even cereal if you had forgot to pack stuff. There is an asda within 3 miles, and we got a home delivery booked for the day we arrived which was a perfect idea to fill the fridge for the week. The hot tub was great, and we were very lucky with the weather that we could sit out all day long. The log burner fire was just delightful to cosy up with at night. Tried the local pubs in the neighbouring village, and they were pretty friendly. My only issue is the busy road outside. Having the window open in the bedroom as it was very hot weather meant that we were kept awake with the busy flow of traffic starting from around 5am. I'm not used to that noise at all, so to me it was loud. Overall though, I would definitely recommend. We had a lovely relaxing getaway."

"!!! It had such stunning decor, all the comforts of home super clean and located in a gorgeous quite and tranquil area. This property far exceed my expectations, private and close enough to walk to amenities. The area boosts an amazing amount of history and sights to see within a stone throw away from the cottage. We honestly wished we had booked a longer stay at Cottongrass cottage, I was very sad to leave. My family have so much to recommend to others wanting to stay here, definitely value for money and everything you need is available within the cottage, evening if you have a child under the age of 4 (cot, security gate for the stair etc). The cottage was pristinely clean, and so wonderfully presented. I will give this property 11/10 on every level. We will be staying here again in the future. To all that stay here in the future you will not regret it. Thank you Cottongrass for our memorable stay. Mrs Bianca Heyneke."

"Lovely, comfy cottage ideally placed for visiting the Oldham area and West Yorkshire. Loved the fire, the beds and the decor and for us, the bath was a big draw so that was one of the reasons we booked this cottage. We travelled with two grown up children, and they happily shared the second bedroom. If you had young children, maybe not as suitable, as there is no garden and the cottage opens up onto a main road. We will definitely stay here again - it is also right round the corner from The Rake, a wonderful Tapas restaurant; we had two great meals there plus a lovely evening in the bar getting to know the owner, Mark, who made us very welcome. Local shops are five minutes drive away in Littleborough - you could walk down in the summer and there is a nice canal walk locally too. A great few days, thank you, Gemma."
