"We were delighted with our stay at Thistle Dubh, which is situated just a few minutes by car from the centre of Drumnadrochit and The Loch Ness Visitor centre, and 5 minutes from Urquhart Castle. First impressions were that it was a very clean and extremely well thought out holiday home.....in fact it almost was a home from home. Everything that you could possibly want when staying away from home was provided here.....apart from a dishwasher! There was a lovely big wet room and the fairly large bedroom opened out onto a little decked garden....which we didn’t use due to the weather! We have never stayed in a place which had 2 single beds, but could see that a double bed wouldn’t have fitted in. Milk, tea, coffee and a welcome basket were all provided and there were also dvds, cds, books, and games. So much more was offered, but you’ll have to stay here to find out for yourselves! We would definitely recommend it."

"This was our first time on the Isle of Skye and Roselea cottage was the perfect place to stay.... a real home from home with everything you could ask for! Comfortable, stylish, cosy warm, plenty of entertainment for the kids, kitchen gadgets galore! It also made the perfect place for exploring on the island or getting back across to the mainland. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here, we would love to come back!! Just a little tip about household shopping, there is a good local Co-Op about a mile away that has a good selection, but we ordered a 'click & collect' from Tesco, unaware that there is not actually a Tesco on the island - you pick up from a delivery truck in the car park at the local library - we spent a good 30 mins looking for a Tesco store lol!"

"This was our third visit to Thistle Dubh and once again it was a great success. Our hosts are welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is well equipped with great attention to detail infact everything you could want is provided including a copy of the local TV listings. The cottage is very clean and warm and absolutely perfect even for my husband who is confined to a wheel chair. There are many interesting and beautiful places and the arrival of a new supermarket about a ten minute walk away makes self catering a pleasure, although there is an excellent pub close by if you don't wat to cook. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are already planning to return next year."

"The location of the Lodge is very pleasant, quiet and lovely view. Seating and bedding comfortable and kitchen equipment adequate/basic (tiny non-stick fry-pan and no cheese grater!) Sorry, I like to cook! Heating was sufficient for a wet September. Plenty of hot water for showers. Unfortunately there was no welcome pack or instructions on waste disposal. Instructions on the tv system would have been helpful as we found that very difficult to work. The wi-fi signal was rather weak. I would recommend the Lodge for those looking for a quiet, restful break but do your research on places to visit as no information at the Lodge."

"A lovely house in a very convenient location. We went by train and found that it was less than 10 minutes walk from the railway station. The house was warm and comfortable with a pleasant garden and the welcome pack was full of delightful treats as well as milk and orange juice. It was a real home from home and we would happily use it again. Our only slight problem was that the washing machine didn't work but I'm sure that now that the owners know about it they will be getting it fixed or replaced very soon."
