"We spent a week here over the Christmas holiday. The house took a bit of finding as a road had been closed however after contacting the owner who told us to stay put his wife then came to find us and led us to the house. We were welcomed by the owner with a glass of wine which was very nice. The house was big enough to house all 11 of us without feeling cramped. The games room was a big plus with everyone especially the children who ranged in ages from 3 to 16. Many pool competitions. We sampled all the house had to offer from the lovey gardens, waterfall, boules court and fishing lake and had great fun. Some of the beds had seen their best and would be improved by replacing. Whilst there was an abundance of cutlery, glasses and crockery we felt that there was a dearth of cooking pots and casserole dishes given the house could accommodate 12. No lids to any pots! Perhaps this is the difference between French and English cooking! There was very little storage space in the kitchen for food products and they all had to be stored on the work top which made it look cluttered. We had a couple of issues which were redressed very promptly by the owner ie. no electricity in the kitchen one afternoon and no hot water all day. We were compensated by yet more bottles of wine by the owner! The location was excellent with a variety of supermarkets close by, as was beaches and historical Boulogne. We had an excellent family holiday and everyone has asked to return."

"What a fantastic house whopping 80m2 was available to us (2 people). Fully equipped, including oven and microwave, bath and good bed! It is an upstairs apartment, so not suitable for wheelchairs etc. For children in Klausen nothing to do. We missed an Internet connection and a deep freezer. Klausen is a quiet village with a village shop with small opening, but a wide range. You can be nice drink on a terrace on a few occasions and / or food. The pilgrimage church is also worth a visit. From Klausen you swipe from nearby major roads easily to all kinds of great places in the region. Trier, Bernkastel Kues, Wittlich, Bittburg, Bad Bertrich, Cohem, Konz we all visited. The open-air museum in Konz is highly recommended, we have a whole day of fun wandering around (closed on Mondays!). In Bittburg the keg roll was nice to see. In Dierscheid we climbed a very high tower, with 360 degree views. Near Klausen runs Moselle at Piesport. The Panorama Road, high above Piesport gives a fantastic view of the Moselle. Hold on tight in the hairpin bends down! ) Walking along the Moselle, on a mat or bench in the grass, on delicious"

"With 10 people we have rented this house for a week. The accommodation is beautifully situated, it is truly a domain with a huge lawn and a pond for the door and forest all around. The road to it is untouched, but that is not an objection, it's his charm to drive a mile through fields over a gravel road to your stay. The house itself is spacious and in a reasonable condition. The bathroom has been recently renovated / built and very large. The decor is reasonable, but of a high Ikea quality so it looks nice but the quality is moderate. For example, the beds you absolutely end up in a pit in the middle of the bed or feel a feather here or there. Some other minorities (which we have already encountered in previous reviews) - The house is terrified. In addition, one of the five bedrooms is located on the vide.- The billiard is in poor condition, the table tennis table does not deserve that name .- The kitchen is modern but too small to cook for 10 people. Conclusion a beautifully situated House that can accommodate up to 10 people and where left and right the interior needs improvement. Have a nice holiday!"

"We stayed at the wonderful Chateau Belle Vie in May and were thoroughly impressed by the place. It was so easy to get to from south west London taking just four hours door to door! The chateau has been renovated to a very high standard. Each of the bedrooms are individually decorated and all are ensuite which was perfect for our large party. We stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the picturesque gardens with a river running through. The kitchen is extremely modern and is kitted out with everything you need including coffee machine and kitchen aid. The two reception rooms are stunning as is the dining room. We loved the indoor table tennis table and the snooker room which kept everyone entertained. There are also bikes you can use to ride the nearby cycle path. You need never leave the chateau! A highlight was a visit to a nearby wine cave and a trip to the market at quaint Saint-Omer. We would definitely recommend Chateau Belle Vie for a large party or groups of families."

"3 generations of my family (ranging from 2 to 70) stayed at this lovely property. We made full use of the trampoline, tennis court, table tennis, pool table and the large dining table. The property is quite isolated so a car is essential to get to the many lovely beaches to the North and the city to the South. The local supermarket and pertol station are within a 5 minute drive and its close proximity to the A28 and A16 made larger cities and attractions easily accessible. The house itself was nicely presented with large bedrooms, an open plan living/ dining area, 2 games rooms and an additional lounge which was perfect as a playroom for the 2 year old! The kitchen was stocked with all the equipment you may need and with the exception of the oven door being damaged prior to our arrival, it was in good condition. We would certainly recommend the property to any other visitors who have a large family or a couple of smaller groups together!"
