"We had a lovely family holiday here this last week. The property is in a lovely location - just a five minute walk to the beach the beach is beautiful and we spent some lovely afternoons paddling and walking with our little girl and dogs. Harlech itself is up a very steep hill, but once you've conquered that there are some lovely little cafes, icecream shop, picnic sites, and of course the castle. There are lots of wonderful places to explore nearby too. The only feedback on the property would be that some things do need an update. The kettle needs replacing (only works when you hold the switch down), some of the bedding was very bobbled and would expect better in such accommodation. The downstairs double bedroom also had a rather unpleasant smell when the door was left shut, but with the door open this was fine - but possibly needs a little look at. The property was really well equipped with everything we needed to cook, clean, bake, and relax for the week. The climbing frame in the garden went down really well with our little girl. and all the space was loved by our dogs. All in all, a fabulous week, we would definitely return (just with a new kettle and sheets!!)"

"This is a great base for people who enjoy simplicity. The cottage is relatively small as you would expect for an old, rural Welsh cottage, but as the children spent all spare time playing in the many secret spots in the garden, it was perfectly adequate. We spent every evening eating outside under the distant mountains. I walked the dog every morning on the hill directly out of the back garden gate, and never tired of the stunning views of Portmerion and Harlech castle. There are all the amenities you need in Porthmadog, 20 minutes in the car, or prefect tranquillity if you'd rather it, at the cottage. There's no tumble drier, but the heated towel rail and sitting cupboard meant we could dry clothes when the weather was too changeable to use the clothes line. We had a brilliant week exploring Snowdonia, biking in Cody Brennin, beaches at Borth y gest , Criccieth, and Blackrock sands, crabbing at Porthmadog, taking the train from Talarnau request stop station to Barmouth for fish and chips. If you love the outdoors, this place is an absolute gem."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our short break at this property, the Old Band Hall is a 'quirky' comfortable home, we loved the decor and the quaint small garden at the back. The new decking area provided a breathtaking view of Snowden and the surrounding mountains whilst also being at the base of Harlech Castle which is lit up at night. The location is superb and Harlech provides all the amenities you will need whilst away. The Old Band Hall has a very small kitchen below ground which is well equipped with all the cooking utensils/equipment that you may need including a large fridge freezer, cooker and microwave oven. The cottage is ideal for couples, we visited as a couple with our seventeen year old son and found although the property is small we had plenty of room and were very comfortable."

"A lovely building, converted with style and care. Unrivalled views of snowdonia and the castle looming over you makes a great setting. Situated in Harlech gives a great base to travel from and some nice restaurants within walking distance as well as takeaways. The pub was shut on the week we went so can't comment on it! The steep climb from the beach is hard work on foot and an adrenaline rush in the car! Not for nervous drivers, although there is an alternative drives, just a bit longer. The beach is breathtaking, large, great sand and dog friendly. Great for two people and the dog. The decor is done to a high standard, and lovely high ceilings in the lounge gives a great feeling of space."

"Had a great stay, cottage spacious & plenty of room to spread out, had everything we needed plus more! Welcome book would have been useful for heating, recycling & extra towels - it took us a while to work out where these things were, heating came on a odd time in different areas of the house. Some Pots & pans were in poor condition & high chair was a bit grubby but took 5 mins to clean up.Lots of beds in big rooms! Garden great as was play equipment.Perfectly situated for beach, train station & mobile fish/chip van although we went to local fish shop in High Street, best fish & chips we had in a while."
