What our customers are saying about our Baby Friendly Cottages In Harlech To Rent.

"It is a very nice property made up of two old cottages combined to make one spacious one. The location of the village is very good, though it is a fair distance to the nearest shops so I think it is more suited to those with cars. Having said that, the Cambrian coastal railway has a stop just a few hundred yards from the property. A guest house down the road does great breakfasts and is sometimes open for evening meals too (though not when we were there). There is no internet access and we found mobile phone signals in the property were poor so it is a good place to go to ’get away from it all’ but not one for people who have to ’keep in touch’. There is a very good curry house in Harlech, about 3 miles down the road. We found that the locals in the Lion Hotel in Harlech were extremely friendly and loved our puppy, so it’s a good place to call in if you have a dog! We liked harlech Castle, the Bleanauu Ffestinog railway, the beach at Barmouth and the Precipice Walk at Dolgellau. If you want a lively night life though, this cottage is not for you! The storage heaters do (eventually!) kick out enough heat, but ideally would be replaced with something more practical. April 2012."

"The downstairs area of Hillside was great. It had a large dining area and a comfy, modern sitting room, with new carpets and lots of comfy seating. The kitchen was well equipped but some of the pans and pots in the cupboards were dirty and so were some of the insides of the cupboards. The downstairs loo needed a door and smelled awful. The upstairs was disappointing as every bed had animal hairs all over the blankets and in the beds. The fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms were unusable as they were full of cobwebs and dirt. The drawers were dirty inside and a few were broken, as was the wardrobe in one of the bedrooms. Having a dirty, blocked vacuum cleaner in the wardrobe was horrible too. The toilets made a terrible noise when they were flushed. The shower needed a good scrub, and, ideally, needed replacing. I know the place is old, but there was a distinct smell of damp which lingered on our clothing. The location wasn't ideal either in terms of children as there was nowhere for the children to go beyond the cottage. It was more suited for walkers. On the surface it looked good but it was a big disappointment and we wouldn't stay again."

"The cottage is tucked away in the outskirts of the magic mountains of Snowdonia. It is wonderfully far away from all the stresses and pressures of our modern day lives. The owners made us feel genuinly welcomed. The cottage itself is like a cosy home from home and gave us the feel to be back in more simpler, kinder times. It is fully equipped, very family friendly including pets. It is surrounded by stunning beauty and ideally located for adventures into the mountains or by the sea. Port Meirion is just accross estuary and the seaside town of Barmouth about 20 minute drive away. As for shopping food or eating out options are extremely limited. There is no corner shop or cafe in Talsarnau. There is a big Tesco in Port Madog, so don't forget essentials. I would love to come back and can recommend it highly. We were happy there. Thanks for that."

"We had a really enjoyable week's stay in October 2018.The rooms were all very clean. There was a very well stocked kitchen (much better collection of dishes, utensils and equipment than probably any other cottage we have stayed at). Two dishwashers, two fridges and clear instructions for food waste recycling etc. The wifi was really good. Plenty of parking available. All things that should be taken for granted but more often that not fall short. The home cinema, snug / football table are all fun/ good / useful. We were also left a selection of butter, homemade jam, bread barra brith and chocolate by the owners. :-) The location is superb - only a short walk to the castle/Harlech town centre and the beach. The cottage has a wide variety of activities in the local area.I would recommend the Grapes for a Sunday roast (about 20 minutes in the car)."

"Absolute hidden gem:A little of the beaten track and all the better for it.Local shops and villages are a short drive away and ideally located for all the tourist attractions such as Harlech castle, Porthmirion, and Porthmadog as well as the Snowdonia action sport centres. A safe haven of peace and tranquility, ideal hill and dog walking area with multiple local footpaths across the countryside. The best sandy beach is Harlech which is only a fewMiles south. The cottage couldn’t be better equipped and the owners were beyond helpful and hospitable and we will definitely visit again. Two cottages at this location and we stayed in the smaller one, but both have an abundance of period features with thick stone walls and oak beam low ceilings.Don’t be put off by the pebble dash it’s a real hidden gem and would recommend to anyone."
