What our customers are saying about our Big Cottages In Glenclova To Rent.

"Booked this for the annual family get together for 7 of us and 2 dogs. Cottage is in a fantastic location next to the river with views across the countryside. It's very modern inside with loads of space for us all and we loved the open plan ground floor with the bi-folding doors. It was very clean and warm. The owner met us on arrival and gave us a tour which was a nice touch. The furnishings are very comfy and the fire is great at night time. There is a walk along the river from the field at the back of the house which was great for the dogs as, apart from the sheep in the field at the house, the rest were fenced in. We also saw Red Kites. At night there is no light pollution so the stars look amazing. The house is perfectly situated for exploring the area. Kirriemuir is 10mins away and Forfar a little further. It took us just over half an hour to get to Lunan Bay which is a stunning beach. The Cairngorms provide the backdrop of the north view from the house and it only takes 30 - 40 mins to get to Glen Clova or Glen Doll where there are several walks, as well as access to the Cairngorm Plateau. Braemar was about 1hr and 15mins where we explored more walks and bagged a Munro. The house was perfect for us. Beautiful rural setting but close to shops and towns should we need it but likewise not far from areas where you can just spend the day walking and enjoying nature. The pub up the road does excellent food and has a steak night on Tuesdays."

"Wonderful size property with lots of room to spread out. Lovely features such as original fire places, sash windows and a wonderful staircase. Billiard room kept many occupied in the evenings whilst others enjoyed the peace of the drawing room. All bedrooms have their own en-suite (baths with showers over), these are spacious and all in our party of 10 slept well. As there is no pub within walking distance, the Bar had plenty of use, it's generously equipped with plenty of fridge space. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of areas for kids to play and explore. We used the external caterers recommended the owner for a 50th Birthday celebration. We would highly recommend these to anyone looking to have a special meal during their stay."

"The cottage was in a fabulous location, with beautiful views across the valley. It had all the 'mod cons' you could hope for and the provision of a generous load of logs and coal for the wood burners was great. We saw Roe Deer on the boundaries of the cottage and lots of birds, including Whitethroats and Yellow hammers, which was a treat. The cottage is a great 'base' location for exploring the surrounding area; we visited Arbroath and walked the Seaton Cliffs and sampled the fabulous 'Smokies'; we drove up through Glen Shee to Balmoral and sampled the Whiskeys at the Royal Lochnagar Distillery; and, took in the Den of Alyth woodland walks. We would definitely book to stay in future and would recommend to friends and family. "

"Lovely location, cottage very spacious and comfortable with an abundance of extremely interesting books. The garden was a delight even in mid October, we can only imagine how special it would be in mid summer. A very peaceful location which was ideal for children and (well behaved) pets. So much to do and so relaxing that the TV was not turned on all week although the reliable WiFi was used, mostly by the Grandchildren! The Grandchildren and adults made full use of the large games room. A true delight and we would love to return at a future date. Homely and relaxing. We spoke to Vere ( the owner) before we arrived and he could not have been more helpful. Can highly recommend for a relaxing and comfortable family holiday."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cardean Mill. It was more than we could have expected. The house was simply gorgeous and the welcome pack was a lovely treat including biscuits, milk, butter, wine, sweets etc. We didnt have to worry about taking anything as all was provided-linen, washing stuff, towels etc. There were 8 in our party (4 adults and 4 children aged between 2 and 7) and we feel it catered very well to all. From the books and games and DVDS provided it was just really great. We often go up to Scotland and after our experience booking with Sykes cottages we will definitely be booking again and maybe even Cardean Mill again. Cant praise highly enough. Thankyou."
