"We did not use the property as a holiday accommodation as such, it was used as a convenient place to stay while we are attending a special event. (As this was a one-off this is the reason we do not intend to return). We also visited friends and relatives while we were in the area. It was particularly useful because we have a small dog and it's quite difficult to find places that will accept them.It has a pleasant outlook at the back of the house where you can watch sailing boats going back and forth. The property is spacious with plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen and especially the front bedroom. The bathroom has a shower which has a decent flow, especially for an electric one.At the rear of the house there is a wide conservatory that doubles as the dining room with pleasant views as you're eating. However there were a few niggles. Even with the brightness turn to maximum the flatscreen TV has a dark picture. The conservatory at the back has only one working opening window, the other one has a note on it that is not be used, it gets extremely hot in there when the sun shines in a short space of time. DO NOT, whatever you do, contemplate leaving a dog in their with the door shut, even with the window open!I could not get in through the front door, I could only get out. If the side door was locked and went out through the unlocked front door but left the keys inside you would not be able to back into the house.Apart from these issues I would recommend the place as it is very clean and spacious with a wide selection of DVDs to entertain adults and children if the weather is not behaving itself in. There is also good-sized strip of grass across the back for children to play on."

"The property was well equipped, clean and tidy if a little dated. The views over the estuary were lovely and changed on a daily basis with various sea craft passing by. The visitors book said you could swim in the estuary but I certainly wouldn't want to. It was muddy and stank of seaweed. However, the beach is well worth a visit when the tide is out as there were lots of different types of seabirds to see. Unfortunately, that's where it ended for us.The beds were comfortable but same can't be said about the chairs in the living room. The sofa was ok but the armchairs are the most uncomfortable chairs we have sat on.I find it hard to believe that not one person has mentioned the very noisy road at the front of the property. The road is made of concrete slabs, the same you find on motorways with enhanced tyre noise to match. Every time a car went over the joins there was a bump, bump. The road led down to a large caravan park approximately 50m down the road so the noise was constant. The rear garden was split in two by a public footpath so there was no privacy when sitting at the table in the garden as people were walking past constantly. It was really annoying to be woken by people stopping to talk about Fido early in the morning. The last straw was a group of young girls screeching at the top of their voices (probably on the beach) in the early hours of the Thursday morning. We came home a day early and won't be staying again."

"Extremely disappointing. We did not like the area and when we drew up to the cottage, nearly turned around and looked for a hotel, but so tired decided to put up with it. The lady next door asked us to move our car directly after arriving, we did not intend leaving it there it was just to unload but she opened the door immediately. The cottage is very small and very badly equipped. No lamps in the lounge only a central light. No coffee table. Nowhere to eat a meal even if you did decide to eat in. The bathroom was not nice, needs refurbishment. It was a last minute thing and totally the wrong decision for us. No one mentioned the property is for sale at present. The so called courtyard garden was a disgrace, wouldn't even think of sitting out there and where the key was kept at the front you had to put your hand through an overgrown prickly bush full of white fly. Decided in future not to take any more cottage holidays."

"Really lovely and well furnished cottage, comfortably clean so ideal place for the dogs with lots of outdoor space and close to Alton Waters, Flatford and other good walking places. Fairly remote so have to drive to shops but we knew that up front and took food stuff with us so were happy with that. Great to have the washing machine and tumble drier, particularly in February with two dogs! The log fire is lovely but the logs only lasted us one day and extra has to be purchased. We had a power cut while there, all evening and through the night, but were unable to get through to the owners to see whether is was specific to the farm as they were on holiday. There were candles there though and it was back on by morning so no harm done but would have been good to have had an emergency backup number. All in all a great week and we would definitely return."

"The cottage is quirky and unusual. However the standard of cleanliness was not good and we bought throws to put over the furniture in the living room as they were marked and dirty. We should have contacted the firm/owner straight away as after I contacted the owner she apologised about the smell from the dishwasher which should have had a new filter fitted and the smell in the bathroom was due to stale water in the jets of the bath. She thought the furniture just needed a wipe over, we think it would need a more thorough clean. The pub was noisy on Saturday night - certainly not the owner's fault, neither was the garage across the road which started work at about 7 in the morning. The cottage is old and interesting, it is easy to travel from here into London."
