"We were a family of 14 from Denmark and Australia meeting for a week’s family reunion holiday and Chateau Gaillac more than met our expectations. We felt very spoilt. The chateau is absolutely beautiful and well kept. Built around 1860-70s it has so much character and the photos are a true representation of both the size of the rooms and the way they look. Beds were comfortable and there were 10 gorgeous large bedrooms most with 3 beds. 7 upstairs and 3 downstairs - and more than enough bathrooms and toilets. The lounge room, dining room and kitchen and upstairs foyer were also great for relaxation. Marie looked after us from the very beginning with a tour around the house. She was available to help with any issues. When she is away, there is a lady next door who comes to clean the pool and help with any issues or her son also came to fix the TV one day. Bed linen, plenty of bath towels and pool towels and toilet paper was all supplied to us for the week. There were even some spare swimmers in case needed. The pool was delightful and looks exactly like the photos. There were lots of pool toys for the kids and we left some too. The best part was the kitchen and the outdoor table. We had a young boy who couldn’t swim so it was important that we could see him in the pool while we dined. The kids were in the pool all night and we loved sitting at the outdoor table eating and enjoying a glass of wine watching the kids play in the pool. Marie even supplied some nice wine to start with. The house had 2 rooms with air conditioning the rest had fans. However, we closed the shutters during the hot days and opened them early in the morning and that kept the house cool. The location was great. However, we had such a good time at the chateau we only made it to Albi and Gaillac. We would recommend a trip to Albi to see the big red brick church - it is incredible. There are plenty of vineyards around too that offer daily wine tasting and we found some lovely local wines. The house has a number of bicycles of which 5 of them were in good condition and we went on a few tours through the vineyards. There is also a BBQ outdoor that we used a few times. All up we all felt the Chateau was perfect. We had such a lovely time and would strongly recommend this for any family or larger group gathering. There is plenty room for everyone to relax and enjoy."

"Before our stay, we had exchanged various emails with Nick the owner who was more than willing to answer any queries we had prior to our arrival. Phillipe, the property manager, greeted us at the property as arranged, showed us around the beautiful house and its many, wonderful features and explained everything we needed to know for our stay. The property itself is truly first class. The pictures really do not do justice to the sheer size and space available for our family of 12. There are so many thoughtful features to accommodate all sorts of ages and interests from the games room for our teenagers to the vast collection of DVDs for our younger children when they needed a rest from the pool! All of the bedrooms are extremely spacious and comfortable with en-suites and bathrooms that easily accommodated our large party. The many different living areas were perfect for people to find their own quiet space, including a wonderful outside terrace with numerous seating, parasols and loungers. Details such as a filled 'beer fridge', which you were simply asked to re-fill like for like, was a super idea and enabled us to settle in and enjoy the property straight away. The area itself has so many things to offer. Our family, ranging from 10 to 71, spend a wonderful day canoeing along the Dordogne and we visited many attractions and local towns. We found a great pizzeria in Figeac and lovely restaurants in Gramat and Martel. There is also a fantastic pizzeria take-away just down the road from the house which provided us with a break from cooking on a couple of occasions! All in all, we had a wonderful stay and were very sorry to leave. The house is superb for a large party and we couldn't recommend it enough."

"We booked the Chateau and Annexe for one week in late September for a big holiday with family and friends. Everyone made a point of telling us what an incredible venue and area we had chosen - I'll list out a few of the many great things about Chateau-des-Siecles: - The owner/staff who looked after us incredibly well - they were responsive, made themselves available and checked up most days (without being intrusive) and they went out of their way to make our stay as stress-free as possible (e.g. helping move furniture / changing linen for new guests). - The accommodation - very tastefully decorated but without being stuffy (i.e. it felt like a place to be lived in and enjoyed), luxurious (great mattresses, linen, bathrooms, kitchens etc) and spacious with ample facilities for numerous groups to do their own thing, or indeed for everyone to get together. - The setting / location - the views from the Chateau and it's grounds have to be seen to be believed, everywhere you walk you spot another stunning aspect. The local area offers plenty of activities such as canoeing, cycling, walking or visiting vineyards - we could easily have spent a month exploring. - The little things - there were numerous touches which we were not expecting from a self-catering rental but which helped make our stay extra-special: pool towels washed and replaced each day, someone popping in in the early morning to clean and tidy communal areas and basic food provisions provided (jam, butter, milk etc) on the first day. - Value for money - given the astonishing setting and luxurious accommodation, Chateau-des-Siecles offers superb value for money. Highly recommended - so much so we are hoping to find another excuse to come back!"

"The journey to the villa from Avignon winds up the mountains, through small villages with treelined views across the valleys. The Chateau is a five minute walk from a typical, French village, with a butcher, two bakers, two convenience stores, small playground and a few cafes. The drive down dirt road to the Chateau gives the right amount of mystery and then you see the building in all its glory, nestled between the trees and two acres of grass (bring a football, cricket stumps or rounders bat). Our four year old ran across the lawn, past the fountain with a newt and goldfish to the electric fence (needed to be there to keep the wild boars from entering during late August only), and then to the river, where he spent hours playing in the stream - this is not for swimming at this point. The truly amazing married housekeepers Elodie (French) and Edward (English) made sure that every request was answered promptly, showed us where there was a secret plunge pool, provided cider (provided by his own fair hands) and generally ensured that this week between 17 members of my family (aged 4 to 81) was one that will live in our memories as an extraordinary moment in time. The Chateau, the interior design, the bedrooms and all that one would expect was first class. We went canyoning (great fun), went swimming in the nearby lake, went tree top climbing (not for the faint hearted) and enjoyed evenings on the terrace with great food and stunning wines. We have to congratulate the owners for putting love and life back into this building. Thank you."
