"The entire journey to Flaujac-Poujols I had a worry that this place couldn’t possibly be as good as the pictures suggested, not for that price. When we arrived I almost jumped for joy. It’s beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, it’s secluded, it’s clean! You have a rural French country villa that’s rustic and quirky with a touch of luxery. The picture shows a piece of gym equipment that was actually really good. I’m a competitive bodybuilder so a small training session for half hour on holiday was a way to relax. The pool is greatThe rooms are great and the owners are fantastic. They live next door but leave you well alone unless you need them for something. On the first Sunday we had trouble with the gas bbq, it looked brand new so couldn’t really understand it. They confirmed it was brand new but was over to the villa in minutes on a Sunday to try and remedy it. We couldn’t but 10am the next morning it was returned and working perfect. The local amenities are only a 12 minute drive to a big supermarket that stock everything. In cahor there are bakers, ptsseries, butchers, wine and cheese everywhere. The bigger more advertised restaurants we found nitvthat great but small eateries down side streets were amazing. The area is simply breathtaking.Shops as above shut usually at 12:30 and open again at 2:30 so be mindful of that. The supermarket outside Cahors (careforre) is open 8:30 till 8:30 but closes at 12 on a Sunday. In fact on Sunday the only place you’ll get anything is a small casino express store in Cahors that reopens at 5:30pm for two hours on a Sunday.Ensure you get to the market on a Wednesday in Cahors also if food is your thing, the produce is simply amazing!!The villa riviera surpassed my expectations and set the seen for the best family holiday we have ever had. I’m an early morning person, see the picture below that I took having a coffee as the sun was rising. You just can’t express how you feel looking at that view EVERYDAY!!Would I go back? Ha booking again next month 😂"

"Loved the peacefulness and ruralness of Maison Massignac. We spent a week there and often enjoyed just staying in and enjoying the location, lovely local foods from the supermarket, and pretty garden with shaded outdoor seating rather than venturing out. The house is extremely well equipped and comfortable, with excellent cookery utensils, pans etc and lots of mugs, crockery and serving dishes of every kind. We also loved having chilled water and ice from the large American fridge in the pantry. It really was one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed at!Whiling away the evenings in the huge comfortable sofas in the living room after a day out in the garden was very relaxing. Sadly it was not cold enough to light the wood burner, but there is plenty of wood....WiFi was spotty upstairs in the main bedroom due to the huge internal walls and the location of the modem downstairs, but not a game changer. Also the thick walls mean no phone signal inside the house, unless you leave your phone on a windowsill and are happy to go outside to take and make phone calls.Nearby Massignac town offers simple grocery shopping facilities, with a few large supermarkets within a 15-20min drive. We particularly likes the Leclerc store in St Junien. We would definitely return here if in the area again. From a personal perspective, whilst the main bed was very comfortable it is a 4’6 bed and we found it a little cramped as we have a superking 6ft bed at home, but that really is personal choice, as the mattress was extremely comfortable. Thanks to the owners for making us so welcome, and following up so quickly on our queries."

"My extended family had a really nice New Year's week stay at Villa Du Roi. It's a beautiful and very atmospheric villa with lots of room for a big group including toddlers. The location is excellent. The kitchen is well-equipped for a group, with a good stove with five gas hobs/burners and a big oven (minor glitches are that the hobs need to be lit with a match and the markings on the oven control are almost worn off). There was an extra fridge/freezer, as well as a serious microwave. The showers were great, with plenty of hot water unless all 8 of us showered very close in time. Since we were there in Dec/Jan, we needed heat, not air conditioning. The downstairs was warm when we arrived, but the top floor was cold the first night. To his credit, the owner's representative came very promptly the next day to adjust the heat so that all the rooms were warm enough. Obviously, we didn't use the pool, though it's a good size and has a reassuring fence to keep it safe for children. We were glad we had a car, but I think it would be easy to stay at this villa without one, especially if eating dinner out instead of cooking. The owner was quick to reply to our questions and his representative was easy to get hold of. I'd be happy to return, maybe in spring or fall the next time."

"This is a very attractive cottage in a very convenient location for many chateaus and historic towns. It’s well equipped but quite small, especially the living room which is also the kitchen and dining room. If you’re tall the beams in the main upstairs bedroom can be a problem, although we guess that’s part of the charm. It was fine for just two of us or if you have small kids but it’s not really suitable for four adults. Although the bathroom, kitchen fixtures and bedding were all spotless, the cottage needed a good spring clean - there were cob webs and dead flies in the light fittings and probably other places we didn’t look. We mentioned this to the hosts. We didn’t mind the 60 Euro cleaning charge because we paid a fairly low off-peak rate, but we would have been upset by the charge if we’d paid any more given the lack of a recent and thorough clean. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed the outside space and bbq patio. The cottage is within the hosts’ walled garden which is lovely if a little claustrophobic."

"Good house in many ways, large and spacious which was great. However, we had a few issues during our stay including a blocked sink, the swimming pool going green and a suspected wasp nest. To be fair to the owners, the property had the feel of having not been stayed in for a while and each of these things could have been a result of that. However, when we tried to contact them we were unable to get through, despite leaving messages. In the event it did not matter hugely for our stay but if we'd been staying longer or the problems had occurred earlier it would have been a shame! I think with a bit if care and attention this could be a great property, the size really was great and the garden space wonderful. Added to that, the owners when we met at the beginning were friendly and kind. Property only needs a few tweaks to be a real winner."
