What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Ely To Rent.

"Every aspect of our stay at Orchard End was enjoyable. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely owner and the welcome pack of treats was very much appreciated. The cottage was cleverly designed, beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished (inside and out!) and extremely well equipped. The beds were so very comfortable and everyone of us slept extremely well. The owners were close by and on hand if we needed anything, but they were also respectful of our privacy too.The surrounding area was beautiful and the cottage was close by to many public footpaths some of which run to nearby villages and pass through beautiful fields and farmland. There are games, books and activities available at the cottage which meant that even if the weather wasn't great we could still relax and enjoy ourselves as a family. The cottage was perfectly located for visiting nearby towns and cities either by car or by train. The local towns of Huntingdon and Ely having mainline train stations. In summary, a stay at Orchard End is a must. It is a perfect base for any type of holiday; whether it be taking long country walks, relaxing in the cottage grounds or having a day trip to a local town or city."

"Orchard End is a hidden gem,if you want peace tranquility and time to unwind relax and sit back then this is the place to do so. I cannot fault either the setting or the cottage.Immaculate, clean and with everything you need plus the welcome food gifts this is a delight. Our black labrador was enchanted with the garden its visiting rabbits and cats and the endless hours spent lazing in the sun was a sure fire winner for her, with plenty of walks nearby and "water" walks not far by car. We had the laziest of stays mainly chilling out on the deck playing cards or reading but we visited the very lovely Ely, ST.Ives and Cambridge all not far by car.Sometimes you think you want one thing busy days doing lots and yet what you get here is something you didn't realise you needed, time out and time to recover. A really awesome place can't praise it highly enough."

"Beautiful cottage. Smaller than it looked from the photos. If we had had 4 people staying it would have been crowded, but it was nice to be able to have our daughter stay for one of the nights. The two bedrooms open off each other so privacy could be a problem if couples don't know each other quite well, and the stairs up to the bedrooms are very steep. Would be very difficult indeed for someone with any mobility issues to get up them, and almost impossible to get down. Otherwise absolutely lovely. Nicely decorated, very clean with good quality linen and towels. Welcome pack a very nice idea, and basics like washing up liquid, toilet rolls, soap and hand wash available. Garden beautiful; classic cottage garden in full bloom. Nice walks from door of cottage. Owners next door friendly and helpful, but not intrusive."

"The house was fantastic! With 3 families, including children aged from 16 to 20, it met all of our different needs. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The bathrooms large and plentiful so no queues! The garden was immense - rounders and cricket were played on the Saturday evening and football on the Sunday. And best of all was the indoor pool and table tennis. Jane couldn’t have been more helpful and advised us on taking the park and ride into Cambridge on the Saturday where we enjoyed a walking tour and punting. Sunday we went into Ely - 10 minute drive away - to see the Cathedral. We will definitely be back as we didn’t have time to fit in the water sports which are literally next to the farm. A wonderful house which made our yearly get together memorable."

"We took our puppy with us to the cottage, Kerry was there to meet us and showed us round and where everything was.The cottage was spotlessly clean and the decor and furnishings great, the kitchen was set out very well and we had everything we needed. The log fire came in handy as the weather was freezing, the heaters were timed individually and one of them had a little issue which made the lounge chilly, so Kerry gave us more logs and we were absolutely fine. There was nothing to fault otherwise except one thing - we did spend a fair bit of time in the cottage as the weather was so freezing cold and snowy, and we both found the sofa really uncomfortable and difficult to relax on - sorry! Thats my only fault, otherwise I would and have recommended it to everyone!"
