"We want to thank you for organising our trip to Dairy Cottage, it was all very last minute! We also want to thank Jane for being a wonderful host. We wanted to upload a review, but as we can't do that directly we've forwarded it on to you. We had a wonderful short break at Dairy Cottage over the May Bank Holiday. • Jane is a great host, we got a very warm welcome. The cottage has been put together with a lot of thought and is well kitted out. • The location is wonderful. At the top of a valley, the views are beautiful with no one overlooking the property. • Ticehurst and Wadhurst are both beautiful villages, with great pubs, delis etc. There's also Bewl water, as well as Bodiam castle, Battle, Hastings - so masses to do within 30 mins drive. The cottage is a real find. Highly recommended. "

"Having rented cottages for the past 20 years, we sadly have to be very candid with this review on Ox Cottage We feel that that this Cottage to be very tired, the ambiance was like an unkept back yard, not what we would call a holiday home. The brochure showed rolling fields, they were there but the only view from the Cottage was a desolate yard with a rusty bath and chairs and an old wooden shed. The flower troughs appeared to have been neglected or an after thought. The promise of a welcome pack was not kept, as was the first basket of logs. The heating seemed to have no occupier control. To say we were disappointed is an understatement, it spoilt our holiday, waste of money. Most people only get one holiday a year and it is so upsetting to feel let down like this."

"The barn is very comfortable and well laid out and was very peaceful with only birdsong and lambs bleating to disturb the quiet. The four poster bed is so comfortable and the settees with only 2 of us gave us plenty of spreading out space. As there were only 2 of us I found the big saucepans and frying pan heavy to use but that is not a criticism merely and observation. The bathrooms were excellent, especially the shower cubicle. There is plenty to see and do in the area and places to visit by train as well. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we would love to visit again next year."

"My elderly Mum, elderly dog and myself had a lovely stay at Ox Lodge Barn. I give a low mark for local amenities, just because there aren't any but this wasn't an issue for us - middle of nowhere is lovely! The barn is really comfortable and spacious - the only reason for not giving a 10 overall is that we would have expected a pint of milk to be in a "welcome pack", whereas there was a just jar of lovely honey and a bunch of flowers - appreciated anyway but as the nearest shop is some miles away, a cup of tea on arrival would have been great!"

"The welcome we received from the hosts was warm and inviting and we were made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Hop House is a wonderful place to stay. It was beautifully clean and so well equipped that we were able to use the kitchen to the full, enjoy the garden and feel comfortable throughout the house. Our little dog was also welcome which meant a great deal to us and the location proved to be very convenient too; quiet but only a short drive into Hastings. We thoroughly recommend this as a first class place to stay."
