"We booked the wonderful Boarzell in late November for a weekend away with friends. The booking process was simple and as it was for a birthday, we were even able to request champagne on arrival from our host, the owner David. What a lovely touch! The house, simply put, is incredible. It more than lived up to expectations with its vast entrance hall, grand rooms and expansive gardens. We were somewhat unlucky with the weather, however lounging by the open fires with a glass or two of claret was an experience in itself. We made good use of the facilities including the snooker table and table tennis and my children had an incredibly fun time exploring the gardens in their wellies. With a large kitchen and views to die for, the group was easily catered for in the house, however we also ate at The Bell in Ticehurst, which is in close proximity to the house as are many other eateries and places of interest. We didn’t want to leave at the end of the weekend and I am already looking forward to our next visit to this fabulous property. Thank you very much David and family!"

"The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a self catering property, even board games and a selection of dvds. We were disappointed that the pool was not in use as it should have been available until September, we left on 1st, however the weather was not really suitable for using an outdoor pool. The other minor irritation was the shower it was either scalding hot or freezing. the beach was a lot further than we had anticipated so we elected to drive, good location for visiting Rye, Hastings and Camber Sands and the New Inn serves really good food and has a nice walled garden.we enjoyed our stay but would not return with our grandchildren as it is a very old property with steep stairs and has very little insulation which means you can hear everything which is not great with young children also the bathroom is downstairs. The girls loved there stay but were disappointed about the pool. It would be ideal for me and my husband on our own."

"We stayed at waterside house in September 2015 for 7 nights. We used this amazing property for a family reunion and everyone had a great time. From the minute we drove down the long driveway and saw this very private and huge house on the banks of the reservoir we knew the property was special. All the rooms are huge with ensuites, so everyone had the chance to relax and the many entertaining areas also meant plenty of space for all the family members and kids. The table tennis and croquet sets were a hit with the kids and adults alike! The area is fantastic with lots of activities including quad bike riding, boating, go ape & fishing right out the front door. There are also lots of great pubs with great food in the area, our favourite was the Bull which is a very old pub less than 10 minutes away. We will definitely be back!"

"We went to Waterside House for a reunion weekend which is something we do every year but this was definitely our favourite of the places we have stayed in. It has an unbeatable location on Bewl water, is secluded but not cut off, there are wonderful walks around the lake and even a pub you can walk to. The house itself has everything you could wish for, the bedrooms are large and beautifully decorated and there is plenty of space throughout to relax, get together and have fun (the hot tub was very popular, even in October). The owner was very welcoming and helpful and gave us lots of useful information about walks, local facilities and also provided us with details for a caterer. We will definitely come back and look forward to our next visit."

"Quirky cottage in fab location with stunning views to Rye. Cottage itself suffers from a down stairs bathroom off the kitchen , and bathroom door right by cooker!Kitchen basics all there but very squashed if more than 3 people stayed.Bathroom clean but dated , shower poor, and no where to dry towels unless heating on. Lounge suite tired and a little uncomfortable.Lovely gas fire though. Bedrooms small but pleasant, spotlessly clean , and very comfortable beds. Wooden floors and stairs mean any walking about was heard throughout, ditto for conversations. If all of the above negatives are okie, for a family with young children rather than 2 couples or more, than cottage fine, Winchelsea quaint."
