"Great stay at the cottage we spent a great week with family and friends. the house is very cute and very well designed. Very nice garden and the beds are great ! But .... There was no enough hot water for 2 showers so we had to wait 3 hours in between showers .... and nobody to deal with problem / no gate in the garden so we could not leave the dog out side / the great AGA stopped working during our stay so we could not cook / there is not enough bowls or containers to be able to cook or make cakes or appetizers .... / no dry wood for the fire so we had only wet logs in the garden / no check in was made so we did not know what was the wifi code we had to look for it but then the wifi worked very well / no information on where to put the trash... simple information that could be written on a welcome book or said with a nice check in in the house. Still we keep nice memories of our nice stay at the cottage."

"The Pictures of the cottage on the website do not do the cottage any justice. It really is a fantastic cottage with ample of room for 8 - 10 people in the lounge or the fabulous diner/kitchen.The cottage came fully equipped. Nothing at all to want for and the added extras were so lovely. Attention to detail from Sue was amazing with lots of additional extras provided to make the stay so enjoyable. The Main road noise is pretty loud but its not as bad in the evening although we didnt have the windows open at night. The location of the cottage was not too bad either but your a good 40 - 50 minutes away from the main Peak attractions which does mean quite a few road trips out daily. Nicely secluded cottage though and private.Good location for the shops in Uttoxeter which was 5-6 mins away in the car.Overall we loved the cottage and its facilities."

"We stayed at the lodge for a 60th birthday weekend. Upon arrival the lodge was freezing and there was no logs to start a fire and it did state on our email there should be enough logs for our whole stay. The central heating also didn't work. We called the help number and someone came to try to work the heating. Still didnt work ans promised he would be back in the morning with logs as we have brought some by this point. No one turned up. We called again and again. Finally the manager turned up at 5pm with logs but still couldn't get the heating on. Thr heating finally. Came on during the night and turned off in the morning. There was also not adequate kitchen items. Lady bird and fly infestation in the master bedroom. Not very clean as loads of large cobwebs everywhere. Also Netflix didn't work as it said too many people was already using it."

"This was for a few days near Derby before my daughter's wedding in the city, for a three-generation family group. We used the ground floor bedroom and bathroom, whilst my partner's daughter and her husband used the inter-connecting bedrooms upstairs for themselves and the children. The lounge and kitchen are open-plan, and also upstairs. The cottage itself is at the end of a lane in a very rural area, but with shops, pubs*, etc only a few miles away. So the setting is very quiet, except for the beautiful peacocks/hens which roam the garden and sometimes stare into ground floor windows! As would be expected in an old building, there are many steps of varying heights to get used to, and in some places slightly sloping floors - but generally this adds to the charm.*The Cow at Dalbury Lees (a couple of miles away) is recommended."

"The lodge is lovely and in a good area but we arrived to a decomposing pheasant on the doorstep which took over 24 hours to get sorted. There were also mice, that we saw, in the kitchen. The wifi isn’t adequate for the size of the house and the now box only allows you to watch catch up tv. It could also benefit from some books, games or dvds which all other holiday rentals have had in my experience. I also think the chimney needs sweeping as it wasn’t possible to get a fire going that didnt seem smoky. That said my kids loved the rabbit warren nature of the house and all the routes round it and especially loved the secret high bed. Also the steps at back of house are very slippery and have no hand rail- my husband fell and hurt himself on them on a wet day."
