"This lodge isn't really large enough for six people. The bunk room is barely large enough to get the bunk in. The living area was only just adequate for six people to be in. The provision of crockery, cutlery and glasses wasn't sufficient for six people - most people have more than one drink and one meal in a day, so exactly six large plates and six glasses isn't enough. Cooking equipment seemed a bit random and missing items such as baking trays too.The lodge is very close to other lodges and the fencing between the lodges is quite "industrial" in nature. We were fortunate in that most of the other lodges weren't occupied for most of the week but it was inevitably quite noisy when they were, and also meant we were conscious of not disturbing other guests. The pool was good, but it seemed a bit early to close it at 7pm (why so early?) and the rules for its use are quite restrictive. The games room was too hot to enjoy although was well equipped. Most disappointing was the wifi/internet provision. Whilst we accept that rural internet speeds can be low, the internet access was so slow as to be unusable. This would be bad enough, but to be charged an additional £20 for the privilege seems like rubbing salt into the wound. Not unreasonably, we expected that the £20 charge was to enable a decent connection to be provided. I'd recommend future guests not to use the provided wifi but to bring their own 4G wireless access point instead."

"Our first impression of Dray Cottage was of the outdoor area and it was a little disappointing! A little bit of tender loving care is definitely needed. Some good seating for families to sit outside together, a BBQ that you would want to cook food on and a touch of weeding would improve the first impressions. Dray Cottage appeared to be clean and very tidy on arrival, however a bit of cleaning in the upstairs rooms was needed before we could unpack. We called the caretaker about the situation who arrived at the property promptly and was very helpful. The cottage was very well equipped with everything our two families needed and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the many fabulous beaches and towns in the surrounding area. Dray Cottage was a good base for use if not a bit remote."

"We've stayed at Little Dunley before and loved it! I would recommend you phone a few days before you are due to arrive, rather than leaving it until the day before, as we did - despite trying numerous times we couldn't get hold of anyone and the only way of getting into the cottage was to guess the code to the key safe! Unfortunately, we had a problem with flies when we arrived but after a phone call to the owner (whose mobile number was in the info pack inside the cottage!), it was sorted very quickly by the caretaker. As before, the children LOVED the very well kept swimming pool and games room (and the nearby House of Marbles!), and really enjoyed using the tennis court. We hope to be back, but would probably choose to stay in Oaktree Cottage instead, if possible."

"An almost perfect stay at Acorn Cottage. The location was great as we were attending a wedding in Chudleigh; only 10 mins away. As well as being nearby to pubs and local amenities. The cottage itself was lovely and big, and provided near enough everything we needed. We did however need an iron and later found out it was located in the games room; this wasn’t noted anywhere. Also, the wifi was not working for any of us, this may be because the router is not in the property? But aside from this, we had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay (I slept like a baby, nice beds), we would recommend it and definitely return. Also the owner (who we did not actually see), was indeed very helpful over the phone!"

"A very nice place with good facilities; two showers, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer, books, DVDs etc...A bit of noise from the other units nearby but not excessive - car parking was also a squeeze but doable if blocking your own party in.Had one small issue where a member of our group took the key to the beach rather than leave in the key safe (our fault), rang the owner for assistance/spare key but was told simply “no”! Fair enough, I suppose we’re all busy Exceptionally clean, 10mins from a large supermarket and a large living room and WiFi that actually works. We visit this area of Devon every year so the question is would I stay again? Most likely - yes."
