"We stayed in this apartment with a 3 year old, a teenager, 4 adults and a pensioner and it was a great holiday. The place is very well kept, is clean and well decorated. The owners were very nice, helpful and gave advice on places to eat and visit. The owners have left toys for the children which is a lovely touch, DVD's and books. The location is fantastic and is between the seafront and the town with a view of the sea from the balcony. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery and crockery and all of the appliances are clean and good quality. There was plenty of space and the bedrooms are a decent size. The only thing that was missing was internet but I understand the difficulty of this. Our mobiles did not get a good reception so this could not be used either but this is probably a good thing as we had a teenager with us :). You will not be disappointed with this holiday home. One piece of advice is to buy a weekly car park pass as this covers quite a few places in North Devon. The person below offered his parking space but as we were traveling around so much, we found this more suitable. It is a bit of a distance but if you get chance, the Williams Arms in Braunton has a fantastic carvery and the building itself is a stunning thatched restaurant. Google it and you will see what I mean."

"This cottage was located in a pretty, secluded village with little traffic and with the sound of the Milton Brook nearby and owls hooting in the trees at night, it was very restful and yet very close to Plymouth and Tavistock, with lovely places to visit nearby including The Garden House and Buckland Abbey. Although there is a good pub in the village, there is no convenience store and we had to go a little way to find a newspaper, but this was only a minor niggle and we found the cottage very comfortable and with its three floors, surprisingly spacious - everything was spotless, easy to use, and clearly labelled - wish we could have stayed longer. The owners were very welcoming and helpful."

"We had a great week at Smithy Cottage. The location is ideal for the beaches at Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Croyde. There is also a lot to do in the area away from the beach but we never had to drive more than about 20 minutes. Highly recommend the National Trust property at Arlington Court (20 mins by car from Smithy). Our 3 year old loved all the open green space around Smithy Cottage and the childrens' play area, and the fact that there were other children staying in other cottages. The cottage itself was clean, warm and fairly well equipped. The owners were very friendly and there was a cake (and mini eggs!) waiting for us on arrival."

"The Plough was a spacious comfortable place for a relaxing break. The owners were lovely, they were always on hand and very friendly and helpful but never intrusive. The Plough has everything you could need, including a large deck for catching the sun - when it came out! Within a few minutes walk is the main village with a community shop and a lovely old pub where the staff are very dog friendly. The Plough itself sits in extensive grounds so its very quiet, but it is only a 5-10 minute drive from Ilfracombe and Combe Martin if you want to be among other tourists! Overall a fabulously relaxing place, we would recommend it."

"We had a lovely stay at the bolthole with just a few things that we felt could have improved it. We took our dog and like to keep on top of the dog hair but there was no hoover just a panote and brush. I did not realise when booking that the garden was across the small road from the property and we only had a small strip of grass to use although our dog is used to going on concrete it's a pain when you have got to put your shoes on to do that. It was adequate space wise for two people but I personally think it would be tight for 4. The only reason we would not stay again was the garden situation."
